Parterning with the City of Birmingham
I'm pretty sure those were Wes Smith's exact words tonight at the Task Force meeting. Exciting stuff.

Since one of those words isn't a word, I hope not.

Partnering with the city toward a stadium. That won't be a first step in the process but the words were said aloud.

By someone who is not seen as a friend. That was an encouraging sign, but I take anything Wes says with a grain of salt.

Still baffled about how he goes from "Justin Craft sucks, we have no pledges" at 8am to "we're gonna have a world class stadium" by 5:30pm.

RE: Parterning with the City of Birmingham
I had the same sort of feeling going in. I was trying to decide whether to boo Wes when he was introduced. No one did, but he got golf claps after his first remarks.

That said, in many ways Wes has played the administration pretty well. NAS is the only group to outright call for Watts' resignation. They maneuvered him into the ATF and now there is going to be a report and donations in hand to fill the doughnut hole. What was announced tonight would fill OSKR's doughnut hole for four years. I imagine that CSS will be more conservative, but I think what is already announced will cover a year or two and fundraising is just starting.

Whatever the issues were between Wes and the FF, they put it to bed and were presenting a united front by showtime.

Yes. Considered asking for the mic and grilling him, but thought it might harsh Justin's mellow approach.

Wes seemed to be crabwalking toward accusing Talty of misquoting him, but that wasn't a verbal quote - it was an e-mail. Those were very hard words by Wes this morning, and I am in no way convinced that he is suddenly our friend, green shirt or no.

I'm sure all present noted the very muted applause for Weasel followed by the thunderous greeting for Anjali.

Loud and clear.
