It seems as if UCF feels that telling people not to be sluts is impossible because people not being sluts is nothing short of a "magical fairyland."
Before I go into that I will give him the opportunity to clarify what exactly he means because It sure as hell doesn't seem like we are tracking along the same lines here.
Who would deny that the more people you sleep with the more likely you are to contract a disease of some form?
No one is arguing against that, but the 'magical fairyland' I'm referring to is the world in which teens don't make stupid decisions, including having sex. Am I the only adult in here who is willing to realize this?
Yes, teens with no guidance. Teens who have grown up in a culture of promiscuity and households that do a ****** job of raising them.
I would agree, teens are more likely to made poor decisions in such circumstances, but teens having sex isn't just a problem nowadays.
Cool straw man, bro. Are we shifting the argument to birth control now?
Too bad "muh pill" doesn't prevent chlamydia and gonorrhea.

I don't think you understand what a straw man is.

And those high rates you see.....teens having sex wasn't a "problem" in those days because teens were regularly getting married and starting families. But

No, you see I do understand. We were arguing about minority STD rates and you suddenly make an irrelevant argument about teenage birth rates.
A straw man is "a common form of argument and is an informal fallacy based on false representation of an opponent's argument."
Who was arguing about teenage birth rates? I certainly wasn't.

You don't, you've been playing catch-up this entire thread and I really don't have the patience anymore. I'm not using that chart as anything else besides evidence teens had sex long before the vague, societal effects and familial breakdown you seem to claim caused the promiscuity of the teens nowadays. This 'gotcha' moment isn't what you seem to think it is, but then again, you've shown to have a pretty poor understanding of arguments in general so this isn't to be unexpected.

How many married teenage families do you see these days? What happened is that is not happening anymore.

I don't ever recall married teenagers back then either. What are you getting at?

RE: Chlamydia Outbreak Hits Texas High School With No Sex Ed
Lots of reasons why STDs are more prevalent in the black population
1. high unemployment rate. They don't have jobs to go to so they do other things with their time
2. single parent homes. When the parent is at work leaving the house empty, then things happen
3. music that glorifies hoes, twerking, baby daddies, etc
4. Leaders, even church leaders, with kids out of wedlock. Cosby has a bastard, I'm pretty sure Jesse has a bastard. There was a church pastor in Montgomery recently who confessed to his congregation that he had AIDS and had slept with several members. When those are the people you're supposed to emulate and look up to then what do you expect?

Cosby having a child out of wedlock is the least of his issues with not being a leader.

Oh I agree, especially as of late. Just using him as an example. On TV he was the all-american father...who had extra kids from a side piece in real life.
