The history of the Southeastern US is pretty cool in terms of shifting political affiliations. Technically, every Southern US state can claim to have been independent before joining the Confederacy. So, if you count the Confederacy you count the independent state.

People love flags. Hell, I love flags and I collect them.

Texas, like New England, has its own culture. Both are unique. (?)

Texas is not Southeast or Southwest ..... it's Texas.

In line with the Texas thing, you can visit the Embassy of Texas in London. It's pretty cool.
