Who requested this meeting? When was the request made? Is there an official agenda? If so, what is it? If not, is there an unofficial agenda? And finally is Bryant still on the BOT? When does his BOT-retirement take effect?

The FS was going to request it, and was met with "Yes, we want to meet with you as well." Call it mutually called. Not sure re when.

The executive committee of the FS is meeting with a few from the BoT. Numbers of both are small enough that it does not meet public meeting size. The agenda was not made public this morning. My guess is that they are going to try to either twist the senate's arm, make threats, or they are going to try to make a deal. I don't think that the FS will respond well to threats at this point.

I have no inside knowledge. The stuff with "guess" is just that, my opinion. The rest was from Chad Epps this morning at the FS meeting. I don't think he knew for sure who was coming. If he did know he did not say who.

Could be either the feckless (England, Humphrey et al) or the brute squad (Bryant, Espy, Fess) and/or Mama Karen.

Hey guys, as much as we want to encourage the FS I don't know if an email campaign is the right move. A member of the FS has reached out to me and said that the FS gets it already and the email bomb has annoyed many of the senators as they are trying to wind down the semester and having to sift through these emails.

I don't think we have to worry about the FS exec committee being ill-prepared or not having a backbone.

They're smart enough to know who's to blame. When someone's beating a child you don't scream at the brat to stop interrupting American Idol.

A reminder that today remains December 3rd, and will remain December 3rd, is not out of line. It's not like we do these things weekly.

I understand what you're saying. Perhaps a more targeted approach to just the FS exec committee would be more appropriate since they are the only ones that will actually be in the meeting with the trustees.

Sent my email of support to the FS and already received a reply from my previous advisor:
"I wanted to say hello again…. The UAB Faculty continue to “do our jobs” each and every day, as students have paid tuition to receive instruction for the Spring 2015 Semester. As one who takes what I do seriously, the distraction created by this situation has resulted in many, many late nights and work at the office on Saturday and Sunday! The FSEC has continued to diligently work with administration and our individual schools to make sure that the faculty are well represented. We have been transparent at every turn and continue to ask for clarification, rationales, timelines, expense reports (security, PR, and legal teams the President has hired), and “who knew what and when” questions. Just know, that we appreciate all the emails sent. We need the emails to not only bolster our efforts, but to also have evidence that the path we have chosen is indeed endorsed by those who are committed to the success of UAB. Hope you are well. My best to you and yours –

Done. I sent a letter to every one of them. This is why.

Sent mine last night. Funny thing is, I thought over time my anger would wane; I am angrier and more motivated now than when they killed our sports programs. And I get more angry every time the anti-UAB forces say or do something.

I get more angry each day. The fire is burning hotter as the days pass.

Was the meeting held today and if so, have any of the FS made any public or private communications regarding the outcome?? Inquiring minds want to know .
