Is that a joke lol?

JOX just said Tarrant might end up there, no mention of Orlando Coleman though. Boy we could really use Tarrant but it's obvious he's a package deal. We need Willy Koussai more and would have to send someone packing if interested in any of them. If Hasse got Koussai and Tarrant we would be a legit Sweet sixteen team.

Former Bama guard @r__tarrant tells Fox6 despite reports elsewhere, he has yet to decide where he may transfer.

I hope he comes back home and brings Orlando along too if they both can play immediately mite make a guard or two leave then we get some bigs. Tarrant would start here at pg for me.

I hope we don't push any of our current players out.

I'm glad we didn't let someone in at UAB who couldn't score a 20 on their ACT.

Anywho a great question to ask is why would he leave the sec to go to the mighty SWAC when XHCMD didn't recruit him at UAB. I don't think MD gave Orlando Coleman a look either.

RE: Ricky Tarrant granted release from Alabama
Why does everybody think Davis didn't recruit Tarrant? http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/..._uabs.html

Moore and most of the UAB players know Tarrant well. Tarrant regularly visited UAB the past few years for pickup games with UAB players. The Blazers recruited him hard and would have loved to have him but Tarrant didn't qualify under UAB's standards for student- athletes. He went to Tulane, where he obviously fits in nicely.

This killed our recruitment of Tarrant, Lacey, Randolph, & Cooper.
http://blog.al.com/offthevine/2010/06/ua...o_avo.html

No special admissions in men’s basketball. All incoming high school student- athletes must have an ACT score of 20 or higher and a GPA of 2.25 or better. All four-year university transfers must have a GPA of 2.25 or better at their previous institution and all two-year college transfers must carry a 2.5 GPA or better.

Good. Athletes shouldn't get special admissions simply because they have a nice jumper. UAB is still a school.

RE: Ricky Tarrant granted release from Alabama
I watched Tarrant while he was at Pleasant Grove, he wanted UAB and UAB wanted him, but it was not to be, I hated it when he came to UAB and just hit everything, almost beating us himself.
But, we have our starting PG and a good #2, heck what do those guys have to do, to prove they are the real deal and capable, win a tournament championship, win a NCAA game, what do they have to do.
What we need is a big 4 or big 5, if we had had a big banger against UCLA we may have made it to the round of 16. So good luck Ricky, but UAB just say no...

Aww poor baby, some need to get past this flash in the pan season and tournament run.

If there's a better pg than Norton, Haase should recruit him .

Maybe the better point guard right now is playing backup to Nick.

However, through this setup both can continue to get better.

He really did step up and played well, can't say that about everyone.

Watts 2nd season ended up being pretty good.

Lots of big moments from several on the bench including in the CUSA tournament & NCAA tournament.

Why rip our own players? I agree with your last line, but nick did a fine job as a freshman in my opinion.

Because they're young men not little boys. Also their skin may be thicker than some on this site. If he had a injury he should've sat out. Also im sure his dad is worse on him than what I am.

Also the biggest stage in college basketball is where you step up and bring your A game. Everyone opinion differs on this board and Nick could use a year to sit behind someone of Tarrant's caliber.

Again, I don't disagree with anything you are saying, I'm just asking why openly bash our own players?

My beef exactly. Our guys would have lost a lot of games this year without Nick.
