It's weird that UAB isn't on that list, but if you looked at it strictly from the outside, UAB won a tournament in Birmingham and then caught Iowa state off guard. I could easily see how without looking deeper this looked like a flash in the pan.
That being said, ODU should be good next year. We need to hold up our end of the bargain, and we need a couple of other teams to do the same. Without good OOC wins, the bottom of the league is likely going to drag our best teams down.
I think we are fine at point guard. I liked the one-two punch of Norton and watts. Watts especially played well at the end of the year. That said, if we could get a talent upgrade like Ingram, I'd take him any day. I like dirk. I'm ready to see what he can do. I think the thing we need above anything else is some size to back up mehinti, Lee, and cokley.

Could use some more offense next year on perimeter and a penetrator.
It doesn't matter, we aren't in his top ten.
Dirk is a scorer. I don't know why people don't want to acknowledge his signing. It reminds me of cokley last season.
Ingram stated that Pettway was the reason he chose UA. Johnson has retained Pettway. Still, originally, it came down to UA and UAB.
I'm not talking about the back then, I'm talking about today. We aren't in his top ten, I don't care if avery Johnson is sending hookers his way to get him there, he is off our radar now. our team is on the floor, and it's one hell of a team. Anything we add at this point is simply icing on the cake.

If Ingram decides to join us fine, otherwise we will survive.
We need a couple of more 4's anyway or maybe a 5.
As a kid, I always liked the icing more than the cake. At some point in my life, and I don't know when it happened, I now like the cake more than the icing.
Too often we had problems with teams with tall, hefty big men. We did well against other tall teams with our length, but Lee and Mehinti got pushed around by opponents that were over 240.
Either those two are going to have add some muscle weight in the off season (and given their body types I would think kind of weight gain will be limited) or we need to recruit a "big" big man who can score that we can bring off of the bench in certain situations.

Don't they have TV and newspaper in Iowa? Heck, I knew we were playing Iowa State....I'm sure they knew on selection Sunday who their opponent was and had the exact same amount of time to prepare for UAB as we did to prepare for them. I guess I just don't like that statement....personally I think you are disrespecting our program by saying that and what was accomplished... JMO
