A lot of Africans are insulted by Americans lumping them in with 'African-Americans.'

For the most part they view themselves as separate from "black[s]" and 'black culture.'

He's a Nigerian immigrant, not one of the hood rats that Al loves so much.

In all honesty, and not calling Firm out on it but speaking generally, it shows how narrow many Americans think. Not all black people are African-American. In fact, that is downright insulting to those that are not.

It perfectly demonstrates the American mindset, of judging people by the colour of their skin alone and how those on the left choose to do it.
