BLAZER RECRUITING RELATED: Gary Parrish on Avery Johnson
Parrish was just on Memphis radio and was asked what he thought of the Johnson hire. He seemed to be talking in code, but he said he liked the hire better than most because although Johnson has never coached in college before, he "understands the culture of college basketball."

He went on to point out that Texas A&M has recently had a top 5 recruiting class and a lot have attributed that to the recent hire of Rick Stansboro, who "has always been able to get players" (wink wink)

Parrish pointed out another contributing factor is Avery Johnson's son is on the Texas A&M team and Johnson has hosted parties for recruits, which Parrish point s out is legal, but he points to as an example of Johnson understanding the culture of college basketball.

Parrish went on to say that Johnson has been "hustling players for several years in Texas" and will be able to bring some guys in.

Between Pearl and Johnson, the cheating game may be reaching a new level in the state.

Just a question. If your son played college hoops, wouldn't you want to watch him play as much as you could, if you could?

The article I browsed said that he didn't expect to transfer, but I would be surprised why you wouldn't.

@blazerman: if my or daughter were playing, I would want to be at all of their home games and some of their road encounters.
