RE: Possible transfer out of Louisville
you know ... Raleigh is pretty close to Wilmington and I've heard that some basketball coach in the Wilmington area has ties to RP

RE: Possible transfer out of Louisville
This is unrelated to Gil transferring out of Louisville, but Pitino just confirmed that both Harrell and Rozier are leaving for the NBA draft. I'm not so naive to believe Pitino doesn't have some big time fresh talent coming in, but keep in mind we play them early next year.

With the team Keatts had this year he coached the fellas to a close finish AT Louisville. With significant talent like Harrell and Rozier leaving (Harrell was expected of course) that opens a door for us to make some noise early in the season next year.

Just saying...

We will not play them next year. We will play in the Menardi Classic but won't play Louisville. It is not a tournament. We will play the other two teams. Winners won't necessarily play winners in the second game.

Ah for real? That sucks. I was hoping we'd play them again. Oh well, thanks for that info.

Not to mention we will be losing just as much. It will take some time for the young guys to gel

I dunno about that. All reports indicate our transfers that had to sit out last season are top notch and possibly better than what we had on the court last year. We'll see.

I agree but regardless it's going to take some time for the boys to gel. Scrimmaging in practice is a different animal from a game

I take it that means you will rag on them if they don't produce.

Does that mean that you will be equally effusive in your praise if they do?

"These transfers look good but they should be playing like this in the CAA."

Well, we know they're not Kentucky 2.0. We also know that if they don't get 30 wins next year you'll probably tell us your "truths" that Coach Keatts underachieved in his sophomore campaign and our program is not making any strides and we have nothing to look forward to. Yay. Anything new in Mullet-land or are you just going to keep reading us the same chapter of the same book everyday?

I thought of UNCW when I saw that he was transferring, but do we need another guard?

With Ponder graduating the year before he becomes eligible, sure. Keatts clearly recruited this kid when he was at Louisville so if he sees fit to bring him here it would be very hard to question that decision simply because we have depth at guard.

he would have to sit out a year and would then have 2 years remaining right? so he'd help in practices for that first year and would then further our depth at guard with Talley and Pugh also getting big minutes

he would also brings decent height to our guard positions

That means alot of fans on this board have been saying all year that the guys sitting out are better players than the ones that played this year.If that is true and I have no clue, they should win the CAA hands down and anything less is a failure-just kidding! It could be wishfull thinking or maybe they are good as I have been told-ad nauseam.
I picked them to win this year and they did but I know zero about these guys other than they are Keatts' players. They have been playing together for a year in practice and should know what Keatts expects. Not to mention the CAA will suck again next year, they should win.

Meanwhile...back to Anton Gill....

Some folks that actually know him seem to think that (A) he will end up back in NC, and (B) are guessing either ECU (his father went there), UNCC, or UNCW (Keatts).

Interesting fun fact: Keatts was espied up in Syracuse with the Louisville team this past weekend at the East Regional final.

RE: Possible transfer out of Louisville
It seems like an odd fit for a guy who is UL to then play for a coach who was an assistant at the school he is leaving. He is not leaving UL because he is happy about how things went there for him.Maybe he just needs to step down a notch or it could be the system or a million other reasons.I guess Keatts can cut somebody and take the kid if feels like he might help.
