I don't like the Texas for Shaka-he should out but maybe he has the itch to move on to bigger money.

Mullet is right. As a resident of Austin, this town sucks to drive in more than any other city in NC combined. Luckily, campus is right next to some very nice homes where Shaka could make the easy trek over without hitting traffic. I assume he could spend the time stuck in traffic counting all his extra money.

I blame whatever has transpired with Mullet and Ms. Cottonball. Perhaps 70sHawk has the answers there...

Speaking of her... where did she go? Basketball season comes to an end and she up and disappears. I really started to enjoy having her around.

Or... he could take a lesson from Kobe Bryant and structure his contract in a way that Texas uses a helicopter to fly him to/from the facilities. Shaka is a wanted man. He has ALL of the negotiating power.

Geography is apparently not Mullet's strong suit. Personally I blame the public education system. And Pepperdine.

Personally I really think you guys should get out a little more and see the world.Wilmington is a nice little town to live and raise a family and that is cool but please leave the room every now and then!!
Shaka should stay out of Texas.

I've been to 27 states, hoss. I just like NC the best.

I do plan to visit some more countries, however. My family went on a Europe trip when I was younger but I want to see more than just the touristy spots.

You don't think he should take the UT job, but you are confused why he turned down State? Strange logic...I guess it is the traffic.

It's hard to understand these concepts on Mullet's level, given how much more worldly he is than the rest of us.

I might need to take a trip further down the east coast to clear my head. What's that state below South Carolina? Alabama, right? Yeah, Alabama.

Yeah? How about you setup a trip to the East Coast to visit Alabama and I'll ride along? Can't wait.

Get out a little and see the world huh? You sure you wanna have that discussion with me?

RE: Shaka to replace Rick Barnes at Texas?
He is living in Richmond some traffic issues are not going to matter in the decision to take a job. The reason he would go to Texas is that he could win a national championship with the talent that is leaving Texas. Texas is loaded with the type of talent that can play Smart's game. Plus the money and weather are great.

Yea,because Texas schools win the NCAA all the time.I think Texas screwed up and could end up with a bad hire-Shaka stay away.
Richmond traffic in no way compres to the cluster that is Austin and the weather sucks there.Austin was a cool spot 20 years ago but today it is a hot mess.

RE: Shaka to replace Rick Barnes at Texas?
Tom Tom recently released their Traffic Index based on 2014 data.

Austin ranks #13, nationally.

Cities with worse traffic than Austin (in order of 1-12):

1. LA
2. SF
3.Honolulu
4. New York
5. Seattle
6. San Jose
7. Miami
8. Chicago
9. Washington
10. Portland
11. Tampa
12. Houston

39. Raleigh
52. Richmond

Also... Raleigh came in at #39. Maybe that's why he turned down NC State. Richmond nearly cracks the top 50.

Yay... useless information that probably has nothing to do with Shaka's decision. Thanks Mullet!

He was saying talent that was LEAVING Texas. I.E. the talent that Shaka could talk into sticking around and playing for him.

Marshall is staying at Wichita State and Smart is meeting with the Texas AD today. Looks like they will offer him 5 years and $14M.

So they'll be nearly doubling his salary in a state with no individual income tax. If I'm Shaka I'm saying "Sign me up!"
