Davidson would fly to Austin for a weekend, but the hoops activities were confined to one day. When Gregg Marshall was at Winthrop, they would scrimmage Davidson at Davidson the years Davidson did not go to Texas.

So Will Wade is the new VCU coach, they were pretty set on getting someone who had a Shaka connection and also to salvage the strong recruiting class they have coming in. As UNC proved no program can survive a bad coaching fit. I think that there is going to be some fall off, Shaka had it going but as we and GMU have shown in two years you can be in the basement.

At a time when our budget is critically limited, I wouldn't imagine our AD would approve long distance travel for secret scrimmages.

Yeah, can't see it either. Anyone think Louisville would pick up the tab for us to travel there for a scrimmage where no tickets can be sold? I think not.

I know we're on the rise, but I'd think Louisville would try to schedule scrimmages against consistent a NCAA tournament competitor.

UNCW would only go to Louisville if the Cardinals picked up the cost. The reasons Pitino would scrimmage with UNCW are that Keatts and he would agree on the basic ground rules and he could expect a tough opponent without any dirty play.

This probably will not happen, but there is precedent if it does.
