And in addition, they did sign a recruit, but he's a 2 star some places and 3 star some places. The ones they lost were 4 star kids.

Honestly, a toss up.

ODU loses a lot of size up front, and it sounds like Wade does more with his bigs than Shaka did, so that's an issue. On the other hand, the Monarchs backcourt should be even better this season. VCU loses its two best players, its most likely breakout player (unless he changes his mind) and its coach. There's going to be a lot of adjustment time needed. Home-court always helps.

Gut feeling: ODU 66, VCU 64. Subject to change depending on which board I'm on as conditions warrant.

Certainly not inconceivable (and you're right, I used size as a more general term for frontcourt players, but they'll definitely be bigger up front). Freeman is better than Lewis, but Lewis also got a lot more experience than was scheduled after Weber's season ended. You're right in that there's more size, but how long will that take to translate? It'll depend on when on the schedule the game takes place; though I guess ultimately it doesn't matter because if it happens later in the season, ODU's frontcourt will have adjusted more, but so will VCU under a new coach.

Freshman signings probably won't matter much for either team at this stage, but a grad transfer could be big.

VCU will in no way shape or form be better than ODU next year. If VCU beats us, it will be because they had a hot game against us, but we return far more talent, depth, experience and more importantly, coaching experience.

ODU should have the upper hand over the lambs for at least the next several years.

OK, sure, they finally got rid of their garbage coach and the guy they hired sounds promising, but they're probably two recruiting classes away from even sniffing the top half of the A-10. And probably a lot more than that from being more than a blip on the DMV radar.

We also share that hate with the W&M fans. I was at the '09-'10 MBB Game in Williamsburg. Big crowd. Both teams tied for 1st. 1/2 Tribe fans 1/2 Monarch fans. The only time the crowd was united was when a VCU loss was announced! We all became one and sang "Kumbaya"!

Nah jk but good for him. I'm an LC Bird Alum and I've been watching Kenny since he was a freshman. He has one of the most smooth shots you'll ever see so congrats to signing with UNC, his favorite team growing up!
