RE: Looking ahead: Old Dominion Football 2016
We need mabey one offensive lineman and a quarterback that can take a hit and is mobile. I don't care who he is but we need one. We have a very nice safety coming in from Benedictine in Richmond.

WR is a position we need to get better production out of and we have plenty of numbers. Obviously Pascal and Duhart should be locks here. Ideally, another QB steps up and we can have Washington at WR, giving us 3 number 1 capable WRs. I've read some good things about Patterson. Plenty of highly rated guys and the chance that any of a number of guys step up. Will England come back?
I think both Fulgham and Hayes are going to see significant playing time and make huge contributions next year. They are definitley in the top two rotation and either could see a lot of starts.
I am hopeful for DW, but realistically, I have real reservations about his ability to return next year. It is a shame, but that is a severe injury he is dealing with.
Heisman hopeful and National title contender QB Deshaun Watson from Clemson made a full recovery within a year and is on the short list for Heisman and a NC.

ACL recovery is very different depending on the athlete. Adrian Peterson made a quick and record setting comeback for the Vikings, RGIII got rushed back and was not nearly as successful. Lots of variables.

That was also RG3's second ACL tear.

DW also tore his ACL, MCL and Maniscus. Not sure how the other two will impact the recovery timeframe, but it certainly won't help.

It definitely depends on the sports (I know this is a football thread). 6-9 months for ACL is about right, but I know they try to go longer (9-12 months) if possible. However, 1-6 weeks for MCL is a little deceptive. Typical grade 1-2 MCL is anywhere 4-6weeks, with grade 3+ being 8 weeks and beyond. That being said, do we see kids braced up and playing before that? Absolutely!

They got to 6 wins after losing their opening game to Charlotte. Uggghhhh.
And losing an early game to FCS non-playoff Liberty.
But give them credit: They won their last four games, and I was convinced it was fool's gold until they gave GaSo their worst Paulson Stadium s***kicking ever. Hard to argue that.
It's depressing, though, that GaSo, Fake GSU and App are going bowling and ODU isn't. It's like being held back a grade while the two smart kids and, somehow, the class clown all got promoted.
And I'm glad ODU didn't get a 5-7 bowl bid. That'd be like getting off your safety school's wait list because 12 incoming freshmen died two weeks before class started.
Um, not that I'd know anything about either scenario firsthand, of course ...

Nagy has, in a relatively short amount of time, taken a defense that was not even remotely acceptable as an FCS defense, and developed it into an FBS defense.
Not a great one, but at least a competitive one at this level.
That is tremendous progress.
this years defense would have won the games vs. ECU and Pitt a few years ago.
I know it's way too early, but a sneak peek at the Wolfpack QB the Monarch defense will likely face in Raleigh this coming September, http://www.247sports.com/player/jalen-mcclendon-21569

RE: Looking ahead: Old Dominion Football 2016
4 star pocket passer. I watched some of his highlight. His strengths are his height and accuracy.
He is not particularly quick or fast, but boy he can see over a line, and he appears to be able to thread he needle.
His mechanics are good and his release is quick.
He is good, but with our defense, I would rather face a pocket passer than a mobile QB any day.
