RE: Freeman - Best Single Game Performance in ODU History?
ODU has a great fan base when they're given something to get excited about. My only concern is that its an aging fan base full of people that remember the Twardzik, Gatling, Sessoms, Hodge, Loughton years. A fan base that can legitimately expect 6000+ crowds, wins against some big name teams, flirtations with the top 25, NCAAs and NITs. Fans over 40 probably think of ODU as having more in common with Xavier, Wichita St and Butler, whereas the under 40 folks think of us more like JMU or Radford. We need to give the younger fans reason to be excited so they will continue to pack the place (at least when we're good) for the next generations.

Hey, Jones at least got us in the top 25, if only for a week. That's one week better then all the other coaches did over the years.

730
And I'd take Petey Sessoms performance against Villanova in a NCAA game over Freeman's performance, as good as that was. Here's a great take on that game!

On top of that, I think Trey and this team just created a whole new generation of Monarch fans. Games like that make fans for life.
The only thing that comes close in my mind was the Women's victory against Stanford that sent us to the championship game against Tennessee.

I was thinking the same thing. The Villanova game was crazy. There were people spilling out of the bars stopping traffic on Hampton Blvd, Couches were burning on 42nd street, there were people dancing on top of a cop car that came to break it up and the cop was just smiling and celebrating the win too. It was the best day of my college career.
