I cannot believe that if UAB had any form of assurance from C-USA or an acceptable alternate conference that Watts' PR team would not have it out there in an attempt to defuse the UAB fans.

Haase just got a $450,000 raise. You sign that contract. We will or won't get what we want on the conference front, but that money's in his bank either way. That is not a matter of integrity, that's just common sense.

Could Coach Haase be any more uncomfortable in that video? OMG! His face.

Since you don't follow basketball you might have missed the fact that UAB's improvement this year was longer than a few weeks in March.

And why was a CUSA tournament run unlikely.

Only a troll would downplay UAB,a win over Iowa State.

Go away Troll.

How'd I know you'd be the first blowhard to attack what I said?

I love UAB athletics, especially football. How many home games did YOU attend last year at Legion? I'll hang up and listen.

What does that have to do with the topic. If hang up and listen means you stop posting, thank you.

Crazy isn't it?

UAB football fans are punished for being UAB football fans. Kinda fits perfectly with the entire awful situation we find ourselves in.

Haase's tenure was mediocre until a few weeks ago, but that was a few weeks ago. The CUSA tournament run and the win over Iowa State in the NCAA tournament, all with an incredibly young team, is the best attention UAB basketball has gotten in nearly a decade. No disputing it.

Living in Birmingham, I can't go to every home game next fall, but I'll attend a couple. Where is the best deals on tickets? Parking? Food?

Fill me in, folks. And.. go Tigers!

Try harder.

Last time I checked... there won't be any UAB football at Legion Field this fall. If there was... I wouldn't even consider "switching sides".

You are reaching... just stop it.

No, I doubt it? A lot of coaches younger make more.

If I'm in Haase's shoes,I would be too paranoid to believe the first word and words following.
Credibility with the Chancellor,Board of Trustees, and the office of the President would be registering absolute ZERO.....something I thought I'd NEVER SEE IN MY LIFETIME!

He's probably not anywhere near the 36th highest paid bball coach. The list you're using doesn't even list half of the power conference coaches if you are using USA Today. Basically every P5 coach makes more than a million. He's probably in the 75-100 range.

No one was ready to fire Haase. A small minority questioned he could "get it done". He proved them wrong.

Count me in that minority. I wondered, for good reason in my mind, if he could get it done on the court. He proved me wrong. I always wanted him and the team to succeed. I'm glad he helped orchestrate such a huge turnaround. This was a truly memorable March Madness, and I have great memories of seeing UAB win our first conference USA tournament championship!!
