UNCW Baseball in the D-I National Rankings - Individuals (as of 3/25)
Source: http://www.ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d1
Terence Connelly
* .394 Batting Average - 78th
* .511 On-Base % - 33rd
* 27 Runs - t-22nd
Gavin Stupienski
* 5 HR - t-56th
* 24 RBI - t-57th
Corey Dick
* 8 Doubles - t-92nd
Steven Linkous
* 8 Stolen Bases - t-67th
Whitman Barnes
* 1.04 ERA - BARELY misses the cutoff for the number of innings pitched. If he qualified, he'd be 24th in the nation.
Jordan Ramsey
* 15 K's per 9 Innings - Also doesn't meet the cutoff for innings pitched, but he'd rank t-1st in the nation in this category if he did.
* 5 Saves - t-30th

Warren Nolan has our RPI at 21 and SOS at 26. And we are 38th in the coaches poll.

We apparently moved up a couple spots in the RPI, to 19th. Possibly because Campbell beat Charleston last night.
In addition, I posted this in the EZU thread, but as a team we are now 27th in the nation in Runs (167) and 11th in Runs per Game (7.6). We are also 13th in batting average (.310), t-22th in HR's (20) and 30th in pitching strikeouts per 9 innings (8.8).

Looking at warrennolan.com and it has us at 19 and columbia at 17th. ??? Maybe we should have lost to them.?! Of course campbell is below us. Go figure.

RPI has very little predictive value, especially in a midweek contest where teams are having to go deep into their pitching staffs. But watching Columbia play I was impressed with them. They split a 4-game series @ Houston (ranked at the time). They also have played 11 of their 17 games against top 50 RPI opponents and have zero bad losses. Going 8-9 against the 12th-toughest schedule in the nation will tend to give you a leg up in the RPI.
I'd be very surprised if they don't dominate the Ivy League.

Additionally, correct me if I'm wrong, but RPI is also a product based on what has been played so far. So, once Columbia starts in on their Ivy League schedule their RPI may drop some as well. Everyone's RPI is likely inflated right now due to all of the non-conference games having been played.

True, but the Ivy League is surprisingly strong. They're the 12th-ranked conference right now. By comparison, the CAA is ranked 19th. Columbia's RPI will definitely drop in conference play, as will ours, but the fall won't be as precipitous as you might think.
