I'd have to call up the video to be sure, but the talking points on page 6 of the docs, the SVC memo dated 5 Sept 2015, appear to be word-for-word what Watts read out on the afternoon of 23 December.

Same as above
The good news is this will help Jack's bills in the court of public opinion.

The bad news is the BOT is prolly moving on a buy out for Watts, in order to save their fiefdom.

Watts will announce his "retirement" within 72 hours.

There is no way they would treat Watts that way; if they did he might well implicate them and reveal that they were behind the plot and there is not way they would survive that. There are only two options open to the BOT with regard to Watts and right now I would give both a 50% probability: 1) They could continue to support him saying that if he told a "white lie" it was only because he had "the best of intentions". 2) They allow him to "retire" with full benefits and a generous NDA.

The BOt may remove him to save their butts.

That's what I am thinking. The only way the BOT removes him is to save themselves.

I think at this point, the hornets nest has been stirred to the point where the BOT will feel they must remove Watts in hopes of everything else dying down.

We already know the scope of the Carr report was changed drastically at one point. The earliest date I see in the documents is August 11, 2014, the week Carr Consulting was to send its report.

Reading between the lines, it seems like Watts wanted to end the program as soon as possible, and the PR firm was operating on that timeline; however, on Carr's recommendation, and presumably after SVC did some research, the two firms walked Watts away from the cliff.

+2 Excellent points

That was my own demand.

As for the Trustees, an NDA has no bearing when criminal activity is involved. And on cursory glance, I believe there is substantial chance that such activity occurred, enough to warrant investigation. The time for them to worry about embarrassment is over. They need to worry about prison.

Might be worth the electrons to send this to Gary Palmer and ask him to call for federal investigations of Watts and the Trustees; he already set his career on fire by voting against the Speaker on his very first day so it's not like he has to worry about his future.

The danger I see is that they negotiate a nice landing for Watts, restore football and restore the 2012 status quo. Some will think the evil has been undone because they've never understood this is a fight with what the Bible calls "principalities and powers (Romans 8)..In other words the evil lords of this world.

IMHO it doesn't matter what they do until UAB is free. Ray Ray is just a symptom, like an itch or a drip. The real social disease is the University of Alabama Board of Trustees and anything less than freedom is unacceptable

That I do. Connection was lagging.

I wonder is this enough to get the legislature to do an investigation and get Mackin, Garrison, and Bahr Jr. on the stand?

RE: Scarbinsky- Documents suggest UAB decided to kill football BEFORE 2014 season began
The system BOT has been out to destroy the UAB athletic programs - specifically the football program in particular - since the 1990s. The signposts along the way are obvious for those who care to look. "Black Friday" was the first openly obvious attack followed by other behind the scenes or openly plain attacks. Things like refusing to allow funding for the student center until assured the swimming pool would be too small to use for aquatic competitions were more subtle than blatantly refusing to allow UAB administrators to fly to interview Jimbo Fisher for the FBHC job.

The question now is whether this state is so anti B'ham or so worshipful of the Crimson Tide that it will stand by and watch UAB be denigrated before their eyes by the BOT even to the point perhaps of being destroyed as a comprehensive undergraduate school? Dr Ray Watts is nothing more than a willing accomplice in what the BOT has had in mind for decades. If not Watts, the BOT would have kept looking until it found one like him.

My best advice to all involved: come totally clean. Its obvious that this is not gonna die and more and more will come out. Best admit the deception reinstate all sports, clean house, and support legislation that prevents this from happening again...

On the flip side - playing Devil's advocate here - people forget how bad the 2013 UAB football team was.

Shutting the entire thing down was even discussed on this board.

Things are rarely as simply as they seem - no telling what numbers were being looked at by Watts and others.

We know what numbers they looked at because they gave us those numbers. And those numbers were wrong.

We are talking about an administration that hired a firm to get advice on how to use another firm, who gave a study to said administration which contained simple math errors that were approved by said administration's own finance team. Then, when **** hit the fan, they hired another 2 firms to help mitigate the negative press/cloud around them, and started a task force to select yet another firm to confirm the original two firm's actions.
