2806 real...

lower bowl seat between 5600 - 5800 IIRC.

No, that's wrong. 2,806 was the crowd for the Round 2 game against Arkansas State. Whoever did the attendance didn't change it from the last game. Also the lower bowl holds a LOT more than the upper (think it's actually around 7,000).

We had crowds less than that less year with 4,000+ butts in seats. My guess is that it was over 5,000.

EDIT: Just to note, this actually happened to the men earlier this year - the figure wasn't changed for a game when there were clearly more people in attendance. Someone didn't change the attendance from one game to the next. It was fixed the next day to reflect the accurate figure.

EDIT 2: Found some Borthrick tweets on Twitter that he swears it's accurate but... he's kind of not realizing the size of the arena. Pretty sure he's just being silly. It'd be shocking that that size crowd was only 2,806.

MTSU and attendance posts, never fails...Your official website of MTSU athletics lists the same attendance, so you might want to call your AD...

I bought 2 of the presold but now have 5 more coming. The record attendance for a women's attendance at USM is something in the 5K range from several years back when we had the $1 day (admission as well as all concessions were $1 each).

I've been going to MT games for decades and I know that arena inside and out. There's no way it was less than 3,000 butts-in-seats. Whatever they announced, the crowd was great and loud.

Ole Miss tried to come back (lessons from USM) but the crowd for once was loud and cheered quite strongly when MT fought them off. When we lost leads this year people usually just sat back and pouted. That was nice to see.

Granted it's not as many as Middle Tennessee gets for games but USM beat writer today USM had sold 3299 tickets so far. This does not include student tickets that have been donated by several donors so that all students get in at no charge with a valid ID and the last game we probably had 250-300 students give or take. 1 of the promotions going right now is all students get a free coke and hot dog courtesy of Eagle Catering which is part of our Dining Services. The goal for USM is 5,000 and I think with baseball out of town Sunday that this should be possible.

RE: WNIT Round 2
We've got to win first and if we do I like our chances for hosting our next game against UCLA vs Saint Mary's which UCLA is hosting. They are 16-18 (not a typo) and had 760 for their Sweet 16 home game. Saint Mary's is 23-10 and had 380 for their 2nd round game. Still trying to figure out how UCLA got in the WNIT with a 13-18 record

UCLA was the automatic qualifier from the PAC-12. They had the best conference record of all the teams that DIDN'T make the NCAA tournament. Shocking, but reasonable.
