I like this scenario better.
Today on the Chris Vernon show in Memphis, they did the same thing. When they got to our game, they said a Dragon could beat almost any other mascot in the field, but UAB got a bad first round draw because they considered a Cyclone unbeatable. A Cyclone can wipe out entire cities and they didn't see how a dragon could beat a cyclone.

I guess it would depend on how big it was.

If the dragon was say the Gareth Edwards version of Godzilla, then I think he could withstand the cyclone and still be standing at the end. That's what we need UAB to do tomorrow, withstand the onslaught, overcome the onslaught, and be standing victorious at the end!

RE: 2015 MASCOT DEATHBRACKET: Dragons, Tigers, and Bears, oh my
"The sports news website SBNation.com has posted their second annual mascot deathbracket, an entirely empirical analysis of which team mascots in the March Madness would win in a brutal deathmatch."

I don't think someone knows what empirical means.

1
: originating in or based on observation or experience
2
: relying on experience or observation alone often without due regard for system and theory
3
: capable of being verified or disproved by observation or experiment

Did they actually observe these matchups of mascots and come to these conclusions?

It could be a weak cyclone and a big dragon.

A cyclone blows out in under a day. A dragon blows fire for many, many years.

Regardless, a Cyclone doesn't kill a Dragon. Therefore, the Dragon wins.
