It is not that easy replacing TH with a "balanced attack". They'll stack the box to stop the run. That puts all the pressure on our QB.

I think you way underestimate Bentley. If they stack the box, he will have a field day. This kid is good. He has the talent, he had a year learning, and he has the same coaching that TH had. He will be fine.

I believe he will be fine as well, but that is a lot to ask of someone who hasn't played a down at this level. I hope you are right and I am underestimating him. I guess I am just trying to temper expectations a bit. It usually takes a year or two for a QB.

Yeah, and I fully understand your point. I guess I have always been a "glass is half full" kind of guy.

I would be very shocked if the defense isn't improved overall from last year.
They are putting the D back in defense. I saw a linebacker thrash another player during the last practice I watched and Wilder made him run in place for a few minutes as some form of punishment! That hit was an NFL hit!!! I hope they use that energy on NC State during their Welcome to Norfolk Virginia Party!

Update on David Washington: According to HM, Washington suffered a slightly sprained shoulder and is OK. Though he could have practiced, he was held out of Tuesday's practice as a precaution, and he is expected to be back at it tomorrow.

Phew!! Glad he is alright. We don't want to lose any of our experienced WR's to injuries.

Hey, ER -- Did Bentley's performance on Saturday help jack up your expectations a little bit? I was at the scrimmage, and he just looked totally in control. As you know, my expectations were pretty high, and he exceeded them rather effortlessly. I do try to stay even keeled, but I am truly excited about our Mr. Bentley.

RE: Are you ready to talk Football?
In case you have not seen it, here is the updated football schedule of televised games with date changes just released by C-USA. As you can see, the Monarchs are not one of the teams making a national television appearance. I am a little disappointed. I thought the Halloween game with WKU would be a great one to move to Friday night. One really interesting move is the Purdue - Marshall game being moved to Sunday.
2015 C-USA FOOTBALL GAMES WITH DATE CHANGES
Sunday, Sept. 6 Purdue at Marshall
Thursday, Sept. 10 Louisiana Tech at WKU
Friday, Sept. 11 Miami (Fla.) at Florida Atlantic
Friday, Oct. 2 Temple at Charlotte
Friday, Oct. 9 Southern Miss at Marshall
Thursday, Oct. 15 WKU at North Texas
Friday, Oct. 30 Louisiana Tech at Rice
Friday, Nov. 6 Rice at UTEP
Friday, Nov. 27 Marshall at WKU

I wasn't there but encouraging reports for sure!

Disappointed that ODU didn't get another Friday night game. The crowd that night, at least until the score got out of hand, was electric.

Has that been decided yet? They may very well move one of these, no?

See post No. 55. My understanding is that there is very little chance that there will be any more changes to the schedule.

Doesn't surprise me. ODU will likely be picked towards the bottom of the conference. Last year we had a record breaker at QB while this year there are more unknowns.
I think we will surprise but expectations should be low.
