Tx State has a really, really good defensive team.

Kaspar will have them contending soon.

I am leaving tomorrow morning for New Orleans! Can't wait to see us make Harrow, Hunter, and Hunter cry again on the court!

7:18 left in the first half, ULM leads USA 20-19. ULM's Cappola (sp) is 4-4 of 3-pointers... so he has 12 of their 20 points!

Cajuns cruise and continue to own Bobcats. Cajuns go deep into the depth chart and will be plenty rested and tested for a rusting GaSt.

Not a single game was played between 1959 and 2014...

I would be interested to see Kaspar vs. Marlin statistics however as there have been plenty of those match-ups in recent years. Do you by chance have those stats?

Lol so what, they've beaten you 3 times since '59? Great example of hyperbole!

That.is.amazing.

Hell of a defensive game by Texas State. Kasper will have a good squad in the future with his recruits. Congrats

I didn't expect USA to really advance much in the tournament. We only play 7 guys. Our lack of depth combined with a ULM team that hasn't played in a week isn't a great combination. ULM is up by 16 with 8 minutes left. Next year is when I expect USA to start turning the corner. Go Jags!

ULM just pulling away at this point. 4 semifinalists left are seeds 1,2, 3, and 4-- I guess exactly the way it should go.

Completely agree. If we can keep Kaspar for another 3-5 years I see our program running this conference. There is no denying the progression our men's basketball program has made. I see it as an optimistic fan but it is good to see other conference mates noticing the potential too.

Cajuns March On In SBC Tournament Past Texas State

Mar. 13, 2015
Men's Basketball

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns overcame a cold-shooting first half to run by No. 8 seed Texas State in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, 53-43, on Friday at Lakefront Arena.

Louisiana (20-12), the tournament's No. 4 seed, shot 45.8 percent in the second half after a first half that saw them put up just 18 points and shoot 17.9 percent

Not trying to be mean but where was the Bobcat support. Honestly, I did not see more than a dozen maroon shirts in the Bobcat zone except for the band. I know your team had low expectations this tournament but figured y'all good for at least a hundred.

Your team had a great game plan on defense and it worked, but unfortunately your offense was as bad as your defense was good, so it kind of was the yen and the yang.

A few reasons:
1. Our support is mostly student driven. most can't afford a trip like that.
2. Weekday at 5pm. Any non-student fan like myself is working.
3. It's a pretty long drive to NO for us. Not exactly in our backyard.
4. We aren't very good. Nobody envisioned us making it to the weekend.

Yeah, but only because you had a couple of guys go down, otherwise you'd have been counting on consecutive win number 9 over us . . . And no doubt rightfully so. It's tough to lose a couple of guys late in the season, but injuries are part of the game.
I fully expect BOTH our teams to be better next year. 04-cheers
