RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
The only thing that concerns me about the secondary is height. There were a couple of games where teams would pick on Trey Reed; although he is fast and can tackle, it's tough to guard a ball thrown to a 6-2 or 6-3 receiver.

I think our secondary could be very good. Young, but there is experience. I like the way Trey plays. Swinton stepped in and had some good moments too. Houston-Carson is strong.

How are the receivers coming along?

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but it looks like Yankovich has been moved to RB.

Played WR, QB, now RB. Very versatile and valuable player to have on a team. It isn't easy mentally or physically to change positions. I give him a ton of credit for being an unselfish team player.

Based on the pictures posted today it looks like Kinder has moved out of the QB spot as well.

Looked like WR. Had some shots of him taking passes as well as one of him with Coach October in the frame.

Both Cluley and Dedmon look like theyve added a bit of muscle...hopefully those two will connect on some big TDs this season.

Yep, 8 pics of him wearing a green jersey and catching balls leads me to believe he's now a WR. I do think we should wait for the "QB" to be changed to "WR" on the roster before we use ink, though.

Re: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
He's a good athlete, it wouldn't surprise me if he was moved. I heard WR at one point was down to 4 practicing players. A number of WR were out due to injury. Could be a spring move for Kinder or it could be permanent.

This is spring ball. Compete and win a spot. We'll see. The redshirt freshmen are stepping up so far from what I've heard. That will only make the team stronger. The upperclassmen will still lead, but the youth will add depth.

Playing in the CAA depth is required.

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
At this point, I see Hart, Dedmon, and Reeves as starters with Carlisle and Heald as the guys who will push for playing time. If Reeves doesn't show more throughout the spring and summer, bank on one of the later to take his spot.

Hart and Demon are shifty receivers; Reeves, Carlisle, and Heald are big guys. I really like this group and we'll only lose Reeves after this season.

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
Dedmon is scary fast and has the ability to make big impact plays every single down. I really hope we end up putting a high use, high competition success rate, possession receiver opposite him. That way defenses can't key on DeVonte and he'll have the room to make big plays. At times Reeves has looked like he could fill that role and hopefully he improves going into the fall.

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
Hopefully the spring game will bring some clarity. Most of the guys you listed have been held out of practice this spring due to injury

Right now I have the two deep as 1-Hart 2-Armstrong, 1-Dedmon 2-Heald, 1-Reeves 2-Carlise

I guess we'll find out next week what the coaches are thinking.

We have the same depth.

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
They'll probably need two reliable lines to implement a faster paced offense. Especially if we are thin at RB (depth).

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
Word from the practice field, at least from talking to one assistant coach, is that Cluley is having a terrific spring. Much more poised than last year with a great understanding of the offense. His accuracy has improved although his arm would never be called and will never be a "rifle arm".

Far ahead of anyone else. No mention right now of a leader for second string qb job.

Much better at identifying and standing up to pass rush. Actual quote is "not so much looking like a deer in the headlights anymore."

We shall see, hopefully, a little on April 11th.

That is great news. That will be needed in the passing game, because no matter what the depth chart proves out to be at the receiver position, everyone will be new in a starting role. DeVonte and Reeves and Hart have had playing time, but now they are prime time. Different role. It will take a QB that is in control to lead his receivers.

Great to hear Cluley has improved. He showed toughness ability last season, and we all hoped an offseason would build on a foundation. Sounds like it has.

Will be interesting to see who on the offensive side steps up as a leader and is voted Captain.

RE: 2015 Tribe Spring Ball
The format of the game is offense vs defense. The defense actually beat the offense last year. With such a new offensive package being implemented, I'm going out on a limb and picking the offense in an upset.

BTW, been pretty quiet about the Oline. This group could be the group that drives the success this year. They don't get the press that other positions get, but our success hinges on them.

Okay so one week til the spring game. Who is planning to go? I remember seeing something about the QB club having something before/after; what's the latest on that?
