Where is everyone getting the 4 day cutoff for buying tickets? Thirty days seems to have some validity if we want these ticket sales counted by the task force. However, I just looked through the entire website and see nothing about a date by which tickets must be secured. I have not seen or heard any credible information on this topic from any source except on this board. Where did this get started?

From the al-dot-com piece linked up above:

The opportunity to put down a season ticket deposit will run through Sunday when the Conference USA men's basketball tournament concludes in Birmingham.

Maybe that's only referring to a booth/table set-up at the tourney for this purpose. Poorly worded, if so.

Yeah, especially because the tournament actually ends on Saturday...

From http://www.BhamforUAB.com:

UAB Students, Faculty, Alumni and Supporters:

As of Friday afternoon, the UAB Football Foundation has decided to pause the campaign to collect season ticket deposits for the 2016 season based on concerns expressed by President Watts and UAB administrators.

Our goal was to make a statement about the commitment to UAB football from the Birmingham community. After receiving over 4,300 season ticket commitments in less than two days, I would say that statement has been heard loud and clear. With little more than word of mouth and posts on social media, the message spread and you responded. Imagine what we can do with UAB’s commitment to restore your football team, months to prepare, and the marketing resources of UAB behind us.

Your investment in the return of UAB football will be safely kept by the UAB Football Foundation until the future of the UAB football program is decided in the coming weeks. As promised, if there is not a commitment to bringing back Blazer football in 2016, your deposit will be returned to you.

We look forward to resuming this campaign at a later date and to the return of your football team for the 2016 season.

If you have questions, please contact us at bham4uab@gmail.com.

Ever faithful, ever loyal.

I'm curious as to the "concerns" of Watts and administration that prompted him and them to block this? It was clearly working. Or did I just answer my own question? I feel like Watts and whomever else in administration is trying to stall, delay and stonewall efforts by the Football Foundation and the ATF to restore our lost sports programs, a promise of transparency and trust inin the process has been seen by many as just more lies , smoke and mirrors by Watts. If they can disrupt you long enough to get UAB kicked out of Conference USA, then they will accomplished another victory to our detriment. How soon can the ticket committment drive resume? If you're waiting on Watts to green light this, IMO, the wait will be in vain. He is stalling, blocking, obstructing you, Justin. But, that's just me...The sooner this ticket drive is resumed, the better . We had some great momentum going with that, and true to form, Watts went out of his way to ruin it. You know how to reach me if need be. I am going to call it a night before I say something about that "man" that I will regret. #FreeUAB #FRW

I've suggested keeping the current deposits secure then reopening the site for those who didn't get the chance. You can list your contact info and the number of tickets you'd like to commit. This part would only be open to those that didn't submit deposits the first time.

Then when they sit down with UAB they can give them a number of tickets they can expect to sell and the dollar amount they can expect. Using that to extrapolate you can give them an overall attendance estimate. Given they were able to get 4200+ deposits in 3 days it's perfectly plausible to be able to give them deposits/info for 10k tickets. That wouldn't even include those that would do Blazer boosters and bring in more revenue. If they agree, all the info and deposits could simply be turned over to UAB.

I would be hesitant to turn the money over to UAB without some major oversight
