Sad but too often true. Dementia splits families

One could argue that having married 4x Glenn Campbell's "family's" situation was predictable. The more cooks in the kitchen ...

But it isn't limited to those situations.

Just recently lost my father in law. Went through many of the emotions but to a much lesser degree than described. This article is using the extreme examples to make it's point. But I can see how, where and why it could escalate to those levels.

I will say that few of us are prepared for this stage of life. It just happens and bam you are knocked on your buttocks and find yourself talking to financial, legal and medical professionals that you never dreamed. There isn't a simple 1 page bullet point script to follow.

The three take aways I would offer for what it is worth are these
- Act with others as you would want to be acted on.
- Live in the moment. It may seem like a torturous eternity but this too shall pass. Create those loving memories that will last as the difficulties melt away in time.
- Thank God it isn't the end. Just a new beginning.

GBL, we are sorry about the loss of your father in law, and hope that the family remains together in honoring his memory into the future. It is too bad these situations exist, but I guess we are dealing with humans. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Always proud to be a Bronco, RTB.
