Surprised I didn't see a game thread for the big game so I will start one. You guys came out early hitting and taking an 18-12 lead but got jobbed on a couple calls here the clear goal tending not called then Bradshaw gets tripped not called then the guy for Virginia just double dribbled and no call then he turns it into a foul call on Bradshaw.

Thought we played a great game. We got a tough draw against UVA and hung with them until the final minutes. Score by no means represents how great of a game this truly was. Craig was fantastic as usual. He shines kn the big stage. We will be back next year. Only lose one senior that plays significant minutes.

belmont is a much better team than 15 seed. with even a 13 or 14 they probably could have won. the ncaa committee has been showing they miss seeds and picks for the tourney.

Seeing how overrated the Big 12 was with their 7 teams, they missed more than seeding. They put way too many teams from the bigs. The mid majors are making a case for more of us and less of the bigs. Murray should have been there.

Completely agree. Both Belmont and UVA were underseeded, which was a double whammy for us. But we got who we got and played very well against a national championship contender. Keep trucking in the NIT. Unfortunate that you guys did not get in the NCAA. That team deserved to play in the Big Dance.

RE: #15 Belmont vs #2 Virginia
Agree with everything posted so far and also wanted to add that there are a number of positive things in this game - I just looked at Virginia's schedule for the whole season and noticed that only 4 teams scored more points against them this season than Belmont did (Davidson, Miami, Duke, and North Carolina). Also noticed according to the stats, Belmont had 4 more points in the paint than Virginia, hit two more 3's, and had a (slightly) better field goal percentage....if it weren't for those free throws (21 of 25 vs. 5 of 6)....

Lots of things to be happy about despite the loss.
