Scott Walker: I've Already Been More Vetted Than Obama; I Unsealed My Records
6 years after the most transparent administration ever was elected we still have a stealth president and the press doesn't seem too willing to investigate Obama's past. That doesn't seem to be a problem with Walker.
Quote:Dana Loesch: "You've already been more vetted than the commander-in-chief."
Governor Walker: "Yeah, And more written about my college days than the president. I unsealed my records!"

Transperancy is a good thing. No one ever said they would be 100% trasnparent however.
Some things need to be kept secret as a matter of National security.

Transparency and Open Government
Quote:Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies
SUBJECT: Transparency and Open Government
My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.
Government should be transparent. Transparency promotes accountability and provides information for citizens about what their Government is doing. Information maintained by the Federal Government is a national asset. My Administration will take appropriate action, consistent with law and policy, to disclose information rapidly in forms that the public can readily find and use. Executive departments and agencies should harness new technologies to put information about their operations and decisions online and readily available to the public. Executive departments and agencies should also solicit public feedback to identify information of greatest use to the public.

That doesn't mean 100% transperancy.

Is this administration more or less transparent than the previous one in your opinion?

I know you didn't ask me, but no question it's more. Is it where it should be? Of course not, but it is better.

It's fine. But what would you consider the big secrets of Bush's administration? The lack of WMD in Iraq, Rendition (maybe) Domestic spying and torture. What else during those 8 years weren't as overt as you'd like?

It doesn't really say if these documents were released in compliance with FOIA or not. That being said, Swonden blew the lid of the entire NSA domestic spying in 2010. These releases seem reactionary in the face of stiff criticism.
