RE: Towson v. Elon
Elon was basically ahead the whole game and finally put it away in OT. Took a long time though for them
Bryant with 42 minutes
Hamilton with 38 minutes
Samson with 31 minutes
Blake with 29 minutes
3 others with 21-23 minutes
1 with 16 minutes

RE: Towson v. Elon
I think I actually prefer Elon. W&M shouldn't get destroyed on the glass because Elon is a small team that runs 4 guards. W&M has to be disciplined and defend the 3-point line. Hold Elon to a low 3-point percentage and W&M should win comfortably.
Towson kind of scares me because if they have a game where they actually shoot decent from the field, it could be trouble for W&M knowing that Towson will crush W&M on the glass

Let's hope we jump on them early and push the pace a bit. Bryant and his team have fewer than 16 hrs to rehydrate, settle down, sleep, eat and get ready to play 40 minutes.

Elon won because they went 13-29 from the 3 point line (only 13-32 from 2). When they beat us, they were 12-25, When we beat them, they were 3-22.

One advantage for us, Tribe will have the crowd advantage tomorrow even though Elon has a pretty nice contingent, good band.
I agree Towson may have been a tougher matchup, but honestly, neither looked all that sharp. We would beat either one.
Tribe team in the house and watched the whole game.

Yep, thats all they do on offense. With their lack of size, they have no paint presence. You just have to prevent their guards from dribble driving to the hoop and kicking it our for a 3. Limit that and they will struggle to score.

Yep, I actually thought Towson looked really bad in the game. Still not sure how they managed to push it to OT. Feel like Elon had every advantage in the game outside of rebounding

Was wondering the same except just saw that they were 19-22 at the free throw line and that is how Towson almost won that game.

3-2 zone all day long...force them to beat you with mid range jumpers.
Towson scared the hell out of me the way they pound the glass for second chance points. Hopefully Elon's hotel has lumpy beds and paper thin walls

Ya, the FT line was Towson's friend in the game (which is a rarity). Towson was a 65% FT shooting team on the season, and I couldn't imagine how much worse it would be if they didn't have McGlynn shoot 92% from the FT line

Shooting is all about how much juice you've got in the legs....We've got to get into their legs early, so, even if their shots are falling early, they'll be off by the second half. We failed to do that against Drexel last Saturday. Go Tribe!

That, and not letting teams run the shot clock down to 5 or less every single possession.....

Agreed with both of you. We need to be aggressive and push the pace of the game to take advantage of the energy difference.
I also think it will help our shooters. We tend to not shoot as well in arenas like this, so if we push to the basket it will give the shooters a chance to get in the flow of the game before they forced to make a bunch of shots.

And maybe trying a press on occasion. Or a change in defense. Or maybe calling a timeout when the other team is on a roll.

Well I guess this means my tickets in Towson section 105 won't cause me any problems tomorrow.
Whew! Thought I was going to have to tussle a bit!

Sat where ever I wanted to last night. I never had an usher even look at me let alone want to check my ticket.
