Series Schedule: Saturday Doubleheader (Noon); Sunday (1 PM)
The Seahawks (7-3, # 23 RPI) welcome a ranked Maryland squad to Brooks Field for 3 games this weekend. Snow in the north and expected cold weather on Friday in Wilmington have pushed the series to a Saturday start, opening with a doubleheader at noon.
The Terrapins, new to the Big 10 in 2015, have been mostly dominant thus far in the campaign, outscoring opponents 66-35 in their 9 games. All of their games this season have either been on the road or neutral fields.
Maryland is led offensively by Jr. IF/OF LaMonte Wade (.486, 11 RBI, 5 SB) and So. C/IF Nick Cieri (.333, 1 HR, 11 RBI).
Out of the pen, Sr. righty Bobby Ruse (2-0, 4.00 ERA, 10 K's, 9.0 IP) has been the arm that has been depended on the most. In addition, R-Fr. righty Ryan Selmer hasn't allowed a run in 5 innings. Given our struggles against lefties, expect to see a lot of work from Jr. lefties Alex Robinson and Robert Galligan who also haven't allowed runs in 7 combined appearances.
Projected Rotation:
Saturday (Game 1): So. RHP Mike Shawaryn (3-0, 1.80 ERA, 25 K's, 2 BB's, 20.0 IP)
Saturday (Game 2): So. LHP Tayler Stiles (0-2, 8.03 ERA, 16 K's, 3 BB's, 12.1 IP)
Sunday (Game 3): Fr. RHP Brian Shaffer (1-0, 6.00 ERA, 9 K's, 1 BB, 12.0 IP)
