I suppose I should root for UH due to RPI implications for us. But it *is* UH. And my old man *did* play baseball at Columbia. And today *is* his birthday. And I *am* in New York right now. And it *is* snowing here. And it *is* 70-degrees back home. And I *do* love asterisks. So suck it, Coogs; I'll cheer for ol' King's College! Roar, Lion, Roar!!

San Diego about to sweep a doublehead from the Longhorns in Austin. The 2nd game was a scoreless tie heading to the 9th inning (Cody Clemens was the UT starter), but San Diego has 6 runs in and still only one out.

RE: Sunday's Games
Big time hiccups today/this weekend for both UH and UT.

Not great for our RPI but impact to us is probably net positive in that these will likely be regional/national seed competitors of ours.

UT game now final.

Does UH have some pitching injuries? Their pitching which was so strong last year seems pretty human this year, outside of maybe their main guy. And I thought they had returned a lot of pitchers?

As usual, guys such as Kendall overhyped the UH staff, buy hook, line and sinker what he was being fed by Whiting. No question, they have a strong weekend rotation, but I wouldn't call it crème de la crème, and I think the pundits greatly underestimated the loss of both Tyler Ford and Westbrook from the back of the bullpen. IMO, Tyler Ford was the team MVP last year, and by a wide margin. A deep bullpen has become evermore critical in college baseball, especially early in the season before starters can be counted upon the go 6 - 7 innings every outing.

Any guesses how a 3-2 week for Rice and less-than-impressive weekends by UH and UT will be reflected in the polls? Where might we be ranked come tomorrow?

I think we're either stay even or drop just one or two spots; nothing dramatic.

Very similar results on the weekend by teams near us in the polls. Maybe a small drop incoming, but I think we stay even in most polls.

Sunday's Games
We "won" our second split of the season, I predict that we hold ground in every single national ranking (excluding the one that shall remain mention-less)
