Big win for Seton Hall
Think the Seton Hall win today is huge. Why? Likely keeps them in the top 100 RPI(might have to win 1st rd in tourney) which means all the teams wins over them will retain some value, and the losses that teams took to them won't be considered as bad losses. A very important thing for St John's, Nova, and Xavier- who Seton Hall all beat earlier in the season.

RE: Big win for Seton Hall
i hope that with the win Seton Hall isnt as desperate for a win when my Friars come to town this week. Cant have an upset this late in the season.
PC victory, especially if Butler betas Gtown, would make the last game of reg season between PC and Butler a must watch

RE: Big win for Seton Hall
the thing that is funny is Seton Hall with a win isn't all that far out of things. They win this week vs PC and Georgetown, and win over Butler or whoever is 2nd in the BET, all of a sudden they are 20-13, and that may just get them in....... So it's now or never for Seton Hall I think.

RE: Big win for Seton Hall
would that get SHU's RPI into the 50's? i feel like an RPI in the 60s or higher (what is it now? 75?) would not be enough

how about this-
18-12 gets them to 61.2
20-13(2 wins in BET and then losing in the SF)- 50.9

Right now, their current RPI is 74.

RE: Big win for Seton Hall
that would be a difficult decision for the committee. i think someone on FS1 mentioned the possibility of SHU being selection #7. 2 BET wins would be a must

The one thing that is weird is how important that Xavier/Creighton game becomes to this scenario. Remember, if Xavier loses to Creighton, Xavier and Seton Hall are tied, and Seton Hall has the tiebreaker. So wouldn't get a cheap win in the 1st rd vs 10 seed Marquette- that could help put them over the top(also then seeing a tougher team in the QF).

if the hall wins out and gets a bid, would that bump someone else out of a bid? (xavier i would guess is most vulnerable at this time)

no, because as I've said all along, conferences don't get bids, teams get bids. If Xavier beats Creighton, they are to me a lock. They have a lot of great things about their resume so if they can avoid the 18-14, they are absolutely safe.

The one that I'm almost hinging on a bit- but won't say it on the other site is St John's. You look at their current RPI- 40, a loss to Marquette and Nova has them at 45.4. Then a home loss in the BET which counts as 1.4 losses and they are at they say 61.7- I don't think it's that bad, but man would not want to tempt fate there at all....

The thing that is funny is Seton Hall I think is one team that other bubble teams want to see lose pretty quickly. I think another one is UConn. There's a few others out there- but those 2 in particular seem dangerous.
