We're already scheduled to pound them into oblivion the week before. If we do that, you guys winning in Springfield wouldn't impress anyone.

If the SBC were looking to just expand in Football, no one would want Missouri State. Its their basketball program that is the prize.

I know they have a better basketball program than us but last season we lost by two on a neutral court to them. And we were/are terrible but will soon hire a new coach. MSU was good many years ago but they have slipped. Heck as bad as we are I think we made the tournament twice since they last did.

Hopefuly Liberty can make a big splash with it's new MBB hire. If those lobbying for Missouri State are mostly for their basketball success, with FB being second, isn't that the tail wagging the dog. MS records for the past 11 years:

2014 Missouri State 1-7 4-8
2013 Missouri State 5-3 5-7
2012 Missouri State 3-5 3-8
2011 Missouri State 2-6 2-9
2010 Missouri State 4-4 5-6
2009 Missouri State 4-4 6-5
2008 Missouri State 3-5 4-7
2007 Missouri State 2-4 6-5
2006 Missouri State 1-6 2-9
2005 Missouri State 2-5 4-6
2004 Missouri State 3-4 6-5

Had no idea that Missouri State has a LONG history of being bad to average to mostly bad. 2013 was the only time in the past 11 years that they had a winning record in their own conference. That's a winning record, not wining the conference. In the past 11 years, only 3 overall winning seasons and they were all 6-5 records.

This is unbelievable. Who in their right mind would want a FB dominant doormat FCS team as a FBS member. Do they think FBS membership is some secret elixir that is going to magically transform a prolonged losing attitude, that becomes an acceptable mindset after so many years of just being bad?

Chief is right. We have little to gain in playing Missouri State, other than gratification of beating an inferior program that has been mired in mediocrity for years. But it would still be nice to really squash them and deflate those hopefully, eternally optimistic and skewed posters promoting Missouri State.
