Holy crap. If we don't fill in for September 26th then as they currently stand they will play a game September 12th and then not again until October 3rd. That's almost an entire month without playing a football game.

Please explain the reason for the post. I followed the link and it takes one to their schedule without any mention of Liberty or the date.

So, because the link has no mention of Liberty on their schedule, no mention of the date, I am conclude that Liberty is confirmed to fill that date. I get the reasons why this is likely to happen. It makes sense. It's just the link is a blank. If it's there to show the open date, that's all I conclude.

When SI was mentioned several days ago, it was mentioned and noted then on this board. It's other than recent or updated news. Just seems logical that one could put a simple line in their post that says the date is still open rather than lust the link. I'll take the game. Seems like a good fit.

I'm afraid that game would have Indiana St written all over it.

This is a decent addition to our schedule. We could have done a lot worse. I am happy we got a D I team.

JMU Chickens out of Liberty rematch
This is about as good as we could expect. And..... It's only a 2.5 hr. drive from me.

We tried to do right by you. Heard you lived up in that neck of the woods and that making it down to Lynchburg wasn't going to be in the cards for our game. Send thank you's to Jeff Bourne at JMU.

Just see if you can get Bourne to honor the 2019 date.

RE: JMU Chickens out of Liberty rematch
We were willing to honor 2012. Both schools had a reason to mutally pull out. Why do you think that the date was moved to Lynchburg for the 4th game in the contract?

Don't ask that. He will just tell you to ask Jeff Barber. At least that's what he did for me.

You are right, it doesn't matter what you or I think. Go to your source, or mine for that matter. Instead of you guessing who backed out of 2012, or wanting a message board poster to give you the correct answer, go to the horses mouth.

Their is no doubt, that we backed out and wanted to postpone it in 2008 and to have that game moved to 2012. Then, my sources say LU did the same when it came time to play that 2012 game.

Until you call or email your AD for the scoop, why believe what I say? Now, with that said, I do believe we were accommodating and gracious in allowing it to be postponed for the simply reason, LU was very gracious and accommodating when we asked for this same game to not be played in 2008.

Why would you find that so hard to believe? We started this whole mess by not wanting to play the game in 2008, since then, it has been a situation of who is going get to turn the screw last.

All that being said, I didn't like it when we originally asked for it to be postponed in 2008, I didn't like that we didn't complete the contract in 2012 (this caused us to schedule Alcorn State instead), I don't like that we asked for it to be postponed again for this upcoming season, and furthermore, I have no clue as to why we would have allowed this final game of the four game contract to be played in Lynchburg (my best guess was that some money was about to come from LU's pockets and into ours by allowing the game to be in Lynchburg) through an amendment to the original two home and two away contract that was signed in 2007.

Again, since you don't believe that LU played a role in postponing 2012, I encourage you to go to the decision makers rather than debating me. Its all sort of pointless anyway, I only bring it up because the integrity of the JMU AD keeps being questioned. He has many flaws but one that is not in question is his willingness to make things right and clearly your athletic director has the same trait. I've heard no complaints from either university on what we the fans consider a mess of the way the obligations have played out.

Look at my posts, I said it was mutual. Both sides played a role. But I am happy to let it go.
