Don't ask that. He will just tell you to ask Jeff Barber. At least that's what he did for me.
You are right, it doesn't matter what you or I think. Go to your source, or mine for that matter. Instead of you guessing who backed out of 2012, or wanting a message board poster to give you the correct answer, go to the horses mouth.
Their is no doubt, that we backed out and wanted to postpone it in 2008 and to have that game moved to 2012. Then, my sources say LU did the same when it came time to play that 2012 game.
Until you call or email your AD for the scoop, why believe what I say? Now, with that said, I do believe we were accommodating and gracious in allowing it to be postponed for the simply reason, LU was very gracious and accommodating when we asked for this same game to not be played in 2008.
Why would you find that so hard to believe? We started this whole mess by not wanting to play the game in 2008, since then, it has been a situation of who is going get to turn the screw last.
All that being said, I didn't like it when we originally asked for it to be postponed in 2008, I didn't like that we didn't complete the contract in 2012 (this caused us to schedule Alcorn State instead), I don't like that we asked for it to be postponed again for this upcoming season, and furthermore, I have no clue as to why we would have allowed this final game of the four game contract to be played in Lynchburg (my best guess was that some money was about to come from LU's pockets and into ours by allowing the game to be in Lynchburg) through an amendment to the original two home and two away contract that was signed in 2007.
Again, since you don't believe that LU played a role in postponing 2012, I encourage you to go to the decision makers rather than debating me. Its all sort of pointless anyway, I only bring it up because the integrity of the JMU AD keeps being questioned. He has many flaws but one that is not in question is his willingness to make things right and clearly your athletic director has the same trait. I've heard no complaints from either university on what we the fans consider a mess of the way the obligations have played out.
