RE: The ACCDN's Jeff Fischel on the ACC Network timeline, & more....
Circumstantial evidence supporting keeping the current syndication model as the best money maker:
From the link:
Pricing reportedly hasn’t been set yet for the service, though rumors point to anywhere from the $2.50-$3.50/month range. That price point, which falls well below more comprehensive services like CBS’ $6/month standalone app, CBS All Access. The model suggests NBCUniversal might be considering other such themed television packages, possibly branching into other genres like horror, drama, animation, or even sports. This is, of course, just speculation. But with so many networks playing their hand at this strategy it could add to the growing buffet of choices that continues to spring up, allowing customers to pick and choose from their preferred networks and content

Maybe a couple more schools need to complain about money like FSU did a few years ago and see how much Swofford & Company and "find".
^^^ THIS ^^^
In fact, how about ALL 15 complain about it?
Most don't care right now because football isn't a priority.
Give it a few years of the SEC pumping money into their hoops programs and they'll start to care. They might start to care this year when the supposedly weak SEC gets as many NCAA seeds as the all powerful ACC.
Hmmmmm, Makes You wonder if somehow Cal held the scoring back in some games to make it look like the SEC is much stronger than They really are to benefit the league with more Seeds in the Tournament. Just a guess though.

IF, and it's a big IF, there is this profit sharing alternative out there with the potential to generate a couple million a year per team (I have no idea), then it at least gives Swofford some leverage with ESPN.
Raycom President Ken Haines said there is "virtually very little change" in what Raycom is doing in the ACC territory, but it can now expand its syndication outside of the ACC's geographical footprint. ESPN Executive Vice President John Skipper said ESPN and Raycom will "co-exist," and called the contract a three-way arrangement.

what if nbc overpays for raycom's inventory of live football (31/yr) & basketball (60/yr) netting a windfall profit ...

Change-in-control benefits generally take the form of an employment contract clause by which the company agrees to pay the employee (usually an executive) significant benefits in the event of a change in the company’s ownership.

to clarify ...
the profit-sharing clause kicks in once raycom divests itself of ACC product ...
