As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is proposing to put the ban on 5.56 mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela’s, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.

Quote:Yet, all the gun nuts are screaming about is that this is a plot by President Obama to infringe upon their 2nd Amendment rights, when in fact the president has absolutely nothing to do with it. Moreover, the original law, titled “Law Enforcement Officers Protection Act of 1985,” was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in 1986. As stated above by Snopes.com, these AR pistols weren’t available in 1986 and this is nothing more than the ATF attempting to update regulations based off new products entering the market.
Gun Nuts Freak Out Over False “Obama Ammo Ban”

So, before I try to engage you in a discussion, is it fair to assume that you are using the above to justify the actions taken by BATF?

In reality, If I were to make one of my AR's into a "pistol" I can easily. However, it's not going to be the typical style or size that all the uneducated people are assuming it would be. If you think a sawed off shotgun is the size of a pistol then you are an idiot.

People will not conceal an AR pistol like a .38 Special of HiPoint 9mm. And as far as the 5.56 round being a "Cop Killer", that's just laughable.

We are talking about part of the Obama Administration....when have you known them to let reality get in the way of their agenda?

239 members of the House oppose potential BATFE action against M885 ammo.

One of my favorite Youtubers, and is always on point when it comes to these issues. Worth a watch.

Here's one on Universal Background Checks, as well, which I recommend watching for those that aren't informed and think this is a good idea. Just like the "Patriot" Act, the "Affordable" Care Act, etc., they give it a cute, little non-threatening name to mask the truth behind what it actually is.

Yeah, I was told that. Maybe if one of the mods closed the damn thread, I wouldn't resort to "spamming". Since Mods gotta protect Mods, it'll remain open and I get b*tch slapped.
