This loss reflects the lack of toughness, mentally and physically, for the tribe. We are a finesse team. When the other guys rain down the 3jacks and shove us around; aside from TT, the guys lose it.
Credit those coaches and those players from Drexel. They ate our lunch!

Beat-you-up basketball was always Bru's thing at Drexel. You need to stay aggressive and force the refs to make calls. We've had our best games against Drexel when referees call a tight game. Let the players bang and we are at a severe disadvantage.

I think people are being way too harsh. It wasn't a great game for us, but Drexel just shot lights out. We don't suddenly stink and are still one of the best teams in this conference and have a real shot in the tourney.

Maybe we can hang a quarter of a banner to go along with our missing half banner.

I'm really hoping your parents are taking you to the Caribbean or something next week. Somewhere where you can't post.

It's bad enough to suffer a tough loss. To have you squealing in the background is just agony.

Hey, 82Hawk, glad you asked...doing just fine, thanks. How's your evening going?

And, yes, take the runner's advice and give me hell. I'll be waiting.

Hang in there, Tribal. The main goal is still in front of us. To nearly all of us, it is the only one that really matters this year. Still proud to be part of the Tribe no matter what. Today's loss just adds to the unbridled joy I hope the team gets to experience next Monday night. Definitely not going to be cocky or overconfident heading there. Still hopeful though.

The Tribe was literally manhandled this afternoon - Marcus couldn't go anywhere without being practically knocked down - except for Tarpey, the Tribe was completely outjumped and our manned under the basket. The difference in "physicallity" and "athleticism" between the two teams was striking.

Also, they were taller than we were at three positions and used that advantage wisely. Before he hurt his ankle, Myles (6'9") simply shot over Malinowski on three different possessions and grabbed a couple rebounds above him. Same story with Williams. They do have some height.

I'll reserve judgment until I see a larger sample size. This Drexel team was curb stomped 2 nights before our game. Drexel, a poor shooting team all year, shot lights out. They have had encouraging spurts, but let's be honest, this is a mediocre Drexel team. What does that say about the Tribe? Only what we already knew. We are capable of being beaten by any team in the CAA on any night. It just so happens that the poorest teams in the conference seem to have their best shooting nights against us. Is the defense that poor or are these teams just up, playing against the 1st place team? Probably a little of both. That is what is so maddening. This team plays outstanding defense at times. You just can't count on it game in and game out.

Don't look now... the worst team in the CAA (I assume from reading this thread) got the #1 seed. Fire Shaver!

Just a word about the crowd...

Large...over 5300

Supportive...even as the game went south the crowd stayed loud and energized

Students...huge numbers & big-time support, stood 95% of the time

Non-Students....saw many families, people whom had never seen before, standing a lot
and wearing Tribe identification

As the season went on support grew and, as the program continues to win in the future,
we appear to be establishing a core fandom.

* What type of honor did they provide Marcus (and Shalk)
* What crowd size did Kaplan enjoy today?

I believe that with the head-to-head sweep, that the Tribe will be the #1 seed if Elon (up 44-25 in the second half) holds on over UNCW (nice to see the Seahawks' program improve this year ... the CAA could use a return for them to the Blizzard/Goldsberry years).

Congrats to the Tribe and fans here on a great season!

They did a short pregame thing honoring all the seniors (Including the student in the Griffin and our student manager) then they had two short video presentations after the game, one for Shalk, one for Thornton. Shalk won a CAA Leadership award. Both seniors gave a short speech.

Very good attendance for us, over 5,300 showed up.

Let's revisit this, shall we? I am feeling soooooooooo good right now, I could bag it and sell it on street corners. But, the question is this, 82hawk, how are YOU feeling right about now? 04-chairshot

Track, do keep in mind that what you call "overconfident," I call "encouraged." You will never see me wave a white flag or bury my Tribe. Go Tribe!!!! 04-cheers

I know when to eat crow - and believe me I never gave up on this team even when we dropped the Drexel game. You have my full fledged support if you want to talk smack to any and all northeastern fans (all three of them?)!
