WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Robbie Thorburn and Austin Magestro were named Colonial Athletic Association Player and Rookie-of-the-Week, respectively, after UNCW improved to 6-0 with four wins last week including a sweep of the Hughes Bros. Challenge.

Thorburn took over the team lead with a .412 batting average following a week that saw the sophomore hit an even .500 (6-12) with a .750 slugging percentage and a .538 on base average. Thorburn, who moved to the infield after playing in the outfield as a freshman, keyed UNCW's 10-3 whipping of Wake Forest in a midweek contest, going 3-for-4 with a home run and a career-high tying three runs batted in. Against George Mason, the defending Atlantic 10 championship, he added three more hits and drove in two more runs. He finished the week with four runs scored and stole a base.

Magestro has made an immediate impact in the UNCW bullpen this season as a rookie. Last week he picked up his first collegiate win, posted a 1.59 ERA and limited opponents to a .158 batting average over two appearances. His win came against Southern Conference favorite Western Carolina after limiting the Catamounts to a run on three hits over four innings of relief.

The Seahawks were postponed on Tuesday against Campbell and return to action this weekend with a three-game series at nationally-ranked Florida State. The series begins on Friday with a 4 p.m. start and can be heard via the Seahawk Digital Network on UNCWsports.com.
