One who had a great impact on the program, Malik Dixon, and another who has a chance to make an impact, Marius Hill. And if I recall, Daniyal Robinson was from that area. I'd love to have a good recruiting pipeline to that area. You know there are probably more good basketball players in and around Chicago then the entire state of Arkansas.04-cheers

I'd like a recruiting "pipeline" to just about any decent sized city. Not sure if Chicago is the best choice with so many schools in the city (off the top of my head- Loyola, Chicago State, Northwestern, UIC, and DePaul) and every Big 10 school recruiting the heck out of the city.

Well, other than Chicago State and/or possibly UIC, we are not likely to get players over Big 10, Mo Valley, or Big East schools. On the other hand, some of the recruits in Chicagoland might prefer to head south to play. No matter how we feel about the winter weather here in the last week, it pales in comparison to what they get up there.

Still wouldn't be as bad as the pictures of Chicago in the winter. And they have more shootings on a weekend than we probably have in a year.

His dad was better at making barbeque, than he was at playing basketball. Seemed like a nice kid, however.

Cordell was a Platt recruit who played a year and a half then left school. He came back as a junior walk on for Wimp and played significant minutes as a jr and sr. He was a point guard and wore goggles his first 2 years if I remember correctly

You've got a good memory Karl. I remembered the name and associated it with Wimp, but the goggles stirred my memory. I can picture him now.

I remember all the guys from that era because it was before I had Kids. A lot of the players the last 10 years have run together but at that point Trojan basketball was my number one hobby
