From what I can tell (without reading the entire thread, admittedly), all ODU fans have said is, at this point, (1) ODU has a SHOT at getting an at-large and (2) ODU is the only team in this year's C-USA that has a shot at an at-large. Related to (1), we realize it would take winning out to the championship game and could still be a long shot---you guys are acting like ODU fans are bragging as if we are a lock. As for (2), I think that is pretty much well established.
The article cited does not refute either (1) or (2), it simply says that La. Tech could be a team to watch if they're in the tourney. I think that is true and would love to see La. Tech (or any C USA team that makes it) do well in the tourney. Not sure why La. Tech fans are so affronted by ODU fans stating the fact that we are the only team with any shot at an at-large this year. But I guess going 24 years without making the tournament in any capacity will do that to you (had to throw a jab in there).
Outside of the Tech fan that maybe a VCU fan the jabs have been going back and forth between both ODU and Tech pretty evenly so far in the thread.
We just want a chance to play ODU in FB or BB at home for change - had to throw a job too.
It makes things more interesting and we need some teams to start disliking each other to start developing rivalries. Plus I enjoy watching some of the ODU fans get worked up and I am sure it goes both ways.
I mean, ODU's women basketball headed to Ruston this year... and also won.
I'm sure he meant in a sport where we expect to win. WBB is rebuilding. Was that the one we lost on a last second 3pt shot? I'm just happy to be .500 at this point.

that would be great if LT can get in, because ODU is going to the dance and if C-USA has any chance of getting multiple bids someone is going to have to come along with us........just sayin........

Things are already going the wrong way. Belmont punches their ticket last night putting a ranked Murray St in the at large pool. OVC was a one bid conference... Now they will get 2 most likely.

From every thing I have seen, Murray State is not going.

ODU is an at-large before Murray. But we do need UNI to beat Illinois St right now on CBS

SMU beating Tulsa later would help too.

ISU is killing UNI by 14 at the half. W&M is up five on Hofstra with about 7:00 left in the first half.

SMU and Tulsa both have fairly good chances of getting at-large, 20 and 38 on the s- curve and 66% and 84% chance of at-large according to http://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-tournam.../#american

This game is definitely going to take away an at-large bid, IF Illinois State holds on 3 teams from the MVC

SMU is a lock. They're in regardless. Tulsa's bubble is pretty soft and would probably burst without a win later. That said, they may be in regardless too.

I think 4 teams from the American with Temple, Tulsa, SMU, Cincinnati are going get in.

Tulsa needs to make a run in the tourney. They're not in if the Dance started tomorrow. Tulsa losing today helps ODU cause a little bit.

Tulsa and several SEC (Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia) and BIG (Indiana, Purdue) schools have work left to do.

RE: What will it take for CUSA to get multiple teams dancing?
I think it will take a miracle to get a 2nd team in the tourney, but ODU winning a squeaker over LA Tech might be the miracle to do that. Interesting our "big bothers" in the AAC are only projected to get 2 teams in.
