Baseball Polls 2/23
As a refresher, the 4 major college baseball polls are the following:

* USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll
http://sportspolls.usatoday.com/ncaa/bas...ll/2015/1/

* National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) Top 30 Poll
http://www.sportswriters.net/ncbwa/poll/

* Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (CBN) Top 30 Poll
http://baseballnews.com/collegiate-baseb...l-2-16-15/

* Baseball America Top 25

http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/t/top-25/

I'll post the updates for this week's polls in this thread as the results come in today, unless someone else beats me to it.

The CBN poll is available: http://baseballnews.com/collegiate-baseb...l-2-23-15/

No love in that one. USC (8-0) and Nevada (7-0) took spots 29 and 30.

Never any love in Baseball America. I also think pretty highly of the D1baseball.com poll.

Ah yes, good call. Unfortunately no love in that one either, not even in the "Others Considered" list:

Others Considered: Florida Atlantic, Kennesaw State, UNLV, Tulane, Dallas Baptist, San Diego State, Georgia Tech, College of Charleston, Grand Canyon.

Had we gotten a crack at Kentucky and NC State and split those games we'd be getting a lot more votes, I imagine.

It appears we'll need to take 2/3 from Florida State to get any love nationally. The chances of getting in the Campbell game aren't looking good.

No placement in Baseball America, unsurprisingly: http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/c...25-feb-23/

as much fun as it is being ranked, our program always seems to do better when we are underestimated.

Not necessarily true. Our 2008 team had a 21-game winning streak that resulted in us getting ranked. While that may have been an instance of "peaking too early", we won 2 games at the Regionals and gave the host, Chapel Hill, hell in the final game.

RE: Baseball Polls 2/23
FSU will be tough next weekend. They're the most rabid baseball fan base in the ACC. For their opening series against Oakland, they had nearly 15,000 total fans show up. Granted, several SEC teams draw more, but that's a lot for baseball.

RE: Baseball Polls 2/23
By the way, FSU was ranked 22nd in the CBN and 25th by Baseball America. Here's Baseball America's short writeup on the Seminoles on their "Top 25 Tracker":

25. FLORIDA STATE
Last Week: 1-3.
Overall: 4-3, 0-0 in ACC (0-0 vs. Top 25).
Weekend Series: 1-1.

It was an ugly week for the Seminoles, starting with a midweek loss to Jacksonville and a series loss to Georgia in Athens. Junior lefthander Dylan Silva made things interesting in relief of Mike Compton (4 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) on Friday, surrendering four runs in the sixth inning to give Georgia the lead. But Florida State came rushing back for three runs in the seventh for their only win of the week. For the second straight start, freshman righthander Boomer Biegalski (7 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) pitched well enough to win Saturday, but Georgia’s Ryan Lawlor (6 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 10 K) proved mystifying for the Florida State offense. In game two, prized freshman Cobi Johnson—No. 92 on BA’s Top 500—struggled in the middle innings (4 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) for the first loss of his career. D.J. Stewart was a lone bright spot for the Seminoles, picking up three hits and homering Saturday.

RESULTS
Feb. 17: @ Jacksonville: L 5-3.
Feb. 20-22: @ Georgia: W 7-5, L 4-1, L 10-5

UPCOMING
Feb. 24: Jacksonville
Feb. 27-March 1: UNC Wilmington
