Sagarins has us #156 and CMU #233.

CMU is #233 after playing the MAC schedule to date. Before that, they OOC schedule was cupcake city (and didn't apparently hurt them. 03-idea ).

Look at the site ive posted several times. That site takes into account all teams played not just D1. It has us as an over ranking of 140 and cmu as 103.

Did you edit your post to eliminate the Ken Pomeroy stats? I got them from your post and now I can't find your reference to them in this thread?

EDIT: Here is the Ken Pomeroy site Super had linked: http://kenpom.com/

It has emu 136 the one i use ranks them 140. But the one i use isnt a pay site and breaks the stats down further. http://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketb...gan-eagles

That will change more as we finish out the season, they have a projected finish somewhere i can't remember where. It almost gives to much information.

We were 1 point underdogs against Buffalo, but are 1 point favorites against CMU? Does Vegas know something we don't? Because CMU swept Buffalo and has a better record than them. Odd spread.

We were 1 point dogs vs. UB and got beat.

We were 1 point FAVS vs. Akron and won.

FWIW, aren't we 3 of the last 4 (if that means anything) plus obviously at home?

I don't see CMU as a superior team. We'll match up much, much better this time (compared to up in Mt. P.).

This is a pick em game, but I'm going with the home team.

We were beaten soundly in our last home game by a team that CMU has beat twice and has a better record than. I don't necessarily see CMU as a superior team to us either, but I'm still surprised we are a favorite. If I were a gambling man that had no association with EMU, I would totally take CMU +1. Not a bad bet at all.

As always, I hope I'm wrong and it proves to be an awful bet. 02-13-banana

If the weather is as crappy there as it is on the west side of the state (it's snowing sideways right now), then probably not gonna be a big crowd. Sucks the students are on break too. Could be pretty dead tonight, but supposedly that's an advantage for us!

Since we've gone to this starting lineup, we've scored 83, 78, 63, and 73, with FG percentages of 46, 53, 35, and 43 respectively. The Buffalo game looks like a bit of an outlier (I lost count of how many wide open shots/layups we missed), and we have NEVER scored that much or shot that well against NIU under Murphy, which is encouraging. This is proving to be a potent offensive lineup that can really get out and run. I think we will give CMU much more of a challenge tonight than we did the first time around.

I think you, Vegas and I are pretty together on this.

No one is overrating CMU tonight.

Can't make it tonight. Too many kid obligations. Looking forward to your assessment, Aaron.

Sam, interesting point about the offensive production. Do u think that Talley's significantly increased minutes has an effect as well. I still see Ward (post slump) and Talley (always) as the two best players on the team.

I was thinking that the shortened rotation is probably the biggest factor. The more that Talley, Lee, and Ward are on the court, the better our offense is. They've all seen heavy minutes the last 4 games. In fact, Talley and Ward didn't come out at all against NIU.

I think Lee's name absolutely deserves to be the there with the other two in terms of value. There is more to the game than scoring, but he is doing so at a very efficient rate. Few players in the MAC are as dangerous as Lee when he gets it going, and we are seeing more and more high scoring performances. Does he still take some questionable shots? Sure. Does he still turn the ball over too much? Yep. But if I need points, I want the ball in his hands for sure. That's value.

Agreed on Lee. Not perfect on the defensive end, but how many times have we seen him jump on a PG and cause a turnover? I say he should have a shot at this 2nd/3rd team all-conference.

RE: Game Week: CMU and @WMU
I agree about Lee and should've included him as part of the big three. Lee has to take on an unfair amount of the offensive load- and does darn good job of it. So bad shots and turnovers are a part of that. The other part might be just part of who Lee is. But overall, he is darn good.

So I like him getting consistent minutes too.
