How we missed on this kid.
Yep. It hurts to see an Alabama guy tearing it up at MTSU.

RE: Marshall Thread
For those who watched the game, did Lewis Sullivan seem to play the "CJ role" off the bench, or did he just play in garbage time? It looks like he played well in the highlight video. I saw
Him make some nice baskets and nice passes. He's looked very timid out there and gotten beat up on the defensive end especially, IMHO. I think he has a ton of upside though. I'm hoping he may start shining at the end of the year, like Tyler Madison did last season.

I didn't think he looked timid at all. He was bangin' around pretty good. I agree on the upside.

Sullivan just hasn't had a spot to play in the rotation up until the time he has had to fill in for CJ. He also had a small injury or two I believe.
I do believe he has worked himself into receiving a lot more playing time.

That's good to hear. I didn't mean I thought he looked timid in this specific game. I just meant I thought he had been somewhat timid in his minutes over the season. He's definitely a versatile player with height, length, handles, passing, and shooting ability. I would be really surprised if he doesn't start improving and playing a much bigger role for us.

Our best Freshmen right now are the ones who have played the most minutes. Take Cokley away from the equation and give Sullivan his minutes and I think he would be much further along. He's a good player and we are fortunate to have 3 more at his position who are even better. I think we all saw Saturday he is close to being up to speed at this level. I like his game a lot and hope he keeps getting better!

I agree, but I really think Sullivan's minutes have been hurt due to CJ taking his potential role off the bench. Hopefully LS can transition into that role and start to blossom.

Disagree here on the positions. I think Sullivan is more of a wing than a 4. He's had to fill in at the 4 because that's where we need him with CJ out. Assuming we can hold onto him, I think he'll play a big role for us in years to come, but the rotation will be tight for this year and next if everyone stays healthy. If we don't sign another game ready big for next year, he'll probably get most of his minutes at the 4 where he's a little undersized.
If Sullivan works his way into the lineup at the 3 next year and we find another big to play the 4 or 5, think about this physically imposing lineup: Tosin, Lee, Sullivan, Brown, Watts (you could also swap Cokely for Tosin or Lee).

I can agree with that. He seemed to be effective at the wing in Europe hitting all those 3's.

I think dirk is either going to start or come in first off the bench next year. His shooting is something we are currently missing. I also think we are going to stay with more 3 guard lineups, especially with guys behind them who can protect the rim. Sullivan is probably the truest 3 we have on the roster, but we haven't really played a 3 under Haase. I think he will be a part of our future, but to really shine he is going to need to develop more guard skills than he currently has at this level.

Yeah, if Dirk's in the rotation it gets really crowded at the wings with Brown, Baxter, Madison, Dirk, and Sullivan. Sullivan might be the odd man out in that group, but I also think he's really talented and could pass Madison and Dirk on the depth chart. He'll probably end up getting all or most of his minutes at the 4 next year, but I always prefer two traditional 6'8-7'0 bigs (assuming at least one can shoot). Still holding out hope for next year that Haase will sign another serviceable big man.
Talking about this makes me realize what an amazing problem it is to have depth. It wasn't long ago when Preston Purifoy was our power foward or Mike Jones and Mike Davis Jr. were our bench!
