It's hard to say. Maybe he has and the players all know they have the power right now and are waiting to see what will bite before they make that commitment? Or maybe he's reaching out hard and not getting any results, plain and simple. Or maybe he really hasn't started hitting it hard yet.

It's all a giant guessing game right now, honestly. That's my take.

I'll take his word for it and then evaluate as the season draws closer. The timelines and volume of transfers within the portal have been clearly laid out. I'm not privy to every conversation and offer that he's extended.

I think it is important to look back and acknowledge that he's spoken about the need for size in the front court.

I'm not a Twitter guy, so not really sure how to gather information on that front. But the Tribe board seems to be all over which of their basketball coaches are following which players, which players are following back, etc. That at least gives them some insight into unofficial offers or contacts that may be out there.

Anyone on our board have the time, know how and inclination to do the same for UNCW coaches and potential recruits?

Players might use Twitter a little bit to promote the cause but for the most part Twitter is for "old people". Get an offer and they post it-basketball and football,not baseball. Instagram is used a lot more by that age group but even that is pretty much considered not cool.

When it comes to social media, no one is more in tune with America’s youth than the mullet.

Cool or not, if you look at the Tribe board, a whole lot of "uncool" players take the time time to follow certain coaches, and the uncool coaches follow the uncool players. But maybe William and Mary just has a bunch of uncool players they target?

I don't necessarily agree with the Mullet's take here. We saw it last year when a few of us did the UNCW player/former player drafts, several players jumped right in to promote on Twitter.

Having a 20 year old living with us and a constant flow of his buddies at our house is the only way I have a clue. They are very open with what they like and don't like-Snapchat and TikTok,along with group chats are the deal.

They use it but only for that purpose and a lot of them don't even have Twitter acoounts .

Jake Lieberman is a good Twitter follow. He reported today that UNCW has been in touch with Cleveland State transfer Alec Oglesby, 6'5 185.

For those that are closer to recruiting scene, what do you know about DeAndre Wilkins out of Wagner? A NC native 4* big that hasn't done much in college, but came in with a reputation as a rebounder and defender. When he committed to Wagner, this is what their HC said, "He has really good feet and runs very well for a man his size, moves well laterally and will be a good rim protector with his size. In evaluating and recruiting DeAndre, what we saw immediately was a guy who can help us on defense and in rebounding right away. He's still developing his offensive game but I think he's going to be a really good player for us in our league."

Alec Oglesby would be a knock down guy that is needed in this offense. They only have 1 right now in Fornes so another wouldn't hurt because Jalen is a senior. We still don't know what the freshman from Myrtle Beach can be, he's seems like an all around good player.

Obviously the last 2 grants have to go to bigs and I'm not against getting a big stiff at this point. Need a few bangers/shot blocking/rebounding kind of guys.

It's only BS when a coach from another program does it but if he is a former UNCW coach it's all different then. They were leaving anyway,didn't recruit them to the new school,blah,blah,blah .
