RE: Recruit Updates
Hunter Cattoor is blowing up. He has to have 15+ offers at this point. CofC the latest. UCF recently offered. Sounds like he has become a bit more of a long shot unless we can get him to visit the beach.

From Phenom Hoops Report:

6’6” 2019 Matt Smith of Independence HS (Charlotte, NC)
Offers: Coastal, UMass, ETSU, Appalachian St, Campbell, UNC-G, Radford, WCU, Presbyterian

Always a tough and gritty forward, Smith has expanded his game even more. A multi-positional defender and high level rebounder, Smith showed to be a knock down 3-point shooter when his feet are set. Watch out, the length forward is a winner and keeps getting better. Smith earned a Coastal Carolina offer after this event, expect more and more to continue coming.

Thanks for the post. I've learned my lessons getting high on incoming freshmen over the years but I've yet to see anything I don't like about his game. The defensive side of the ball is the unknown at this point and I imagine will be the deciding factor in terms of who gets the most minutes.

I must say his passing is on another level for an incoming CAA freshman. He has surprising velocity and accuracy on some of those kickouts.

Yep, I do like his passing, handling, vision and shot presentation. He has some funk to his game too. Fun player to watch. I loved me some Steve Nash and I'm not saying that, but guys like this are fun to check out.

You just never know until they start playing a bit. The other guys coming in sound good too so that will be cool to check out.

The only obvious flaw is that he can't finish with his left hand on the layup. Good left hand dribbling though.

Seemed to me he went reverse on several to use the rim to protect his shot from being blocked.

Don't know if he can or can't for sure. But i've watched every video and haven't seen a layup with his left hand in any of them. Not a game changer, just an observation.

RE: Recruit Updates
I saw some video of him doing it back earlier in the Spring or Summer. You're right, it's not a game changer for him since he already has a ton of funk going on and can make plays from the left regardless.

Bad News- Mike Fowler Commited to JMU

Good News- According to Doug Esleeck's twitter, UNCW should have their first commitment announced soon.

If I had to guess who the commitment is from, I would say Imajae Dodd. The UNCW basketball instagram just recently followed him today, he’s the only recruit the account follows.

Google Imajae Dodd & several good articles come up. They sound like there is very good potential in this young man.

RE: Recruit Updates
A terrific athlete with good skills, blocks shots and rebounds well. An article mentioned that he plays with a chip on his shoulder which I like. With Devonte graduating, it will be great having a player like this. If he has a big motor with athleticism and skills, he's going to get minutes early. People have him listed at 6'7 to 6'8 and 200 lbs. This staff gets good players.

Welcome to the Dub Imajae!
