Blizz went way under the radar, he wasn't a highly sought after recruit. Hell FSU wanted him to walk on.
They used up their ships thinking he would walk on because he was so close to the program.
Right, but also not many other big names. Blizz was just like CJ and Cacock, very under recruited/appreciated. Johnny G was the same way
Same with the players we have offered now. They were still under the radar when we offered.
I like the freshman coming in, look very solid to me.

LOVE this. We are primed and ready now. I like this a lot.
Good squad to compete with next year.
Ty G also has 3 years of eligibility left too. Very good get.

Just highlights the difference a full season of recruiting makes vs coming in with less time than other coaches and all the signed recruits backing out.
Making moves this year and successfully plugged all the needed gaps.

We can go to war with this group. Certainly this year, and there's promise for life after Cacok too.

It's funny, but Linssen moved the needle more for me. Nevertheless, I am glad to have Gadsden on board, and have our 2018 roster finalized. Welcome Ty!
Can't wait until the fall to get to see the kids play.

Agree, but the important piece is that all of the gaps were addressed and provide us a balanced team going forward.

RE: Recruit Updates
Not much film on Gadsden, but will be interested to see if he can win the starting PG job. Toews and him will probably be fighting for it. Kudos to the staff on a really solid class. Now onto the 2019 class!

RE: Recruit Updates
Not much out there, but I liked this short article. Note the head to head with Dennis Smith Jr. :
As we get closer to the season, now is a good time to look at players who will make a big impact at their respective schools. Ty Gadsden, who spent last season at United Faith Christian, will now be at Victory Christian in Charlotte, NC. Gadsden had a great season, including an epic bout in the state playoffs with he and 5 star point guard Dennis Smith Jr going head to heard where both players went over 30 points in the match-up. He is a quick point guard that does a great job taking great shots within the offense. Gadsden has been well coached and has a great presence for the lead guard position. He has become a much better vocal leader over the course of the last season and that skill will be very much needed for a deep, talented Victory team this season."

RE: Recruit Updates
Never know how any of these players will look on the court, but we have addressed all of our needs.
I would still lean towards the following lineup, with some of the younger guys coming off the bench.
Taylor, Fornes, Cylla, Elmore, Cacock

You think Taylor can run the point?

Nice quote and a good find, 82.

Taylor played hardly any PG last year. I believe he's better served playing off the ball. He was our best catch and shoot wing last year, and makes really good backdoor cuts. I just feel like they're gonna start Toews or Gadsden, and have Elmore come off the bench.

RE: Recruit Updates
This is what I took away from Gadsden on articles I could find on him. His sophomore year at United Faith was his best year in high school. A coaching change which resulted in his dad getting the HC Job at the end of the year there, lead him to transfer out... which is ironic. His last two years were spent at two different high schools in which he never seemed to get his mojo back. He did a prep school year in 2017, and a JUCO year this past year. His JUCO stats are impressive as he was one of the best players for a final four JUCO squad. I'm hoping he is starting to trend upward again and him being in a stable system will benefit him.

Hearing he wasn't NCAA qualified which is why he went JUCO, and therefore projects higher than usual as a player. Could be that diamond in the rough i'm talking about.

To be clear, he graduated high school in 2016, correct? Just curious...I think that could be to his benefit...an extra year of maturity and strength.
Some of y'all understand the implications of recruiting in-state better than I do, so I'm sure you're also pleased that he's a NC kid.

RE: Recruit Updates
If you aren't eligible for NCAA coming out of high school ( a non qualifier) you have to graduate JUCO and attend 3 semesters there. Doesn't seem to be the case with Ty

RE: Recruit Updates
Graduated in 2016. Did a Post Grad Year at Believe Academy in Athens, Tennessee. Then did a year at Vincennes University a JUCO in Indiana. I'm not good with the non-qualifier rules... but I agree the extra year he gets from doing the Post Grad year should help. It benefited guys like Craig Ponder in the past, and I believe it has helped Ty Taylor as well. Both guys that had a redshirt year as well as a Post Grad year.
