Hilarious that Birdsong is not putting his name on his articles now. Obviously his writing though.

"At 13-11 overall, the UAB basketball team isn't going to wow you"

At the bottom of the pic,

Good to see that the Birmingham news manages to make Alabamians understand Dean's Smith legacy, by comparing him to Bear.

I guess they can write an article now about Jerry Tarkanian, saying Like Bear, Jerry Tarkanian was a cheater at a sport he excelled in.

This is where I always thought UAB would be once they watered down CUSA. Good to see we're finally dominating the conference in basketball the way we always should have been.

I don't know; to get a cliche-per-sentence count that high you'd have to dig up Alf van Hoose.

Tark had a couple of favorite go to quotes he used a lot. My favorite is "I loved signing transfers. Their cars are already paid for."

Although it's hard to beat "Nine out of ten teams are cheating, and the tenth is in last place", and the evergreen "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky that it will probably slap a couple of years more probation on Cleveland State".

Bet Haase is sweating this road series more than any games thus far. His team has finally gained some momentum and is buzzing around town. We must finish this. We must dominate this conference right now. We do not have the luxury to wait. The CUSA dog and pony show is now.

Agree. This is a huge road trip for us, because these are games good teams, championship teams, don't lose.

Perhaps a new writer who drew the short straw had to do it.

These two road trips will make or break our conference championship run. I expect us to win out at home.. Last year we lost to a lot of inferior teams on the road. Hell, we did at home also. I hope we are past that at this point in the season. Given that we could easily be 11-0, Id like to think we are past the point of losing to subpar opponents away from home.

We should win these games, but now we are the hunted. Now our young guys are going on the road as #1 and they will face some motivated teams as the season is close to winding down and teams are trying to position themselves for the CUSA tournament. Big week for sure.
