I remember reading about some defensive turnover a few months ago. Was he recently hired this offseason or is he the crazy one with the blood on his face during games?

No he has been here 2 years, almost left last year for florida state but decided to stay. Guess the NFL was too much to pass up.

Probably better now than before National Signing Day.

We had brought in Matt Wallerstedt as a "consultant" for half of last year when he was fired at Texas Tech who took a DC position at Charlotte a few months ago. I wonder if he would have stayed (or been asked to stay) if the move by Willis was known at that time. It may also make a position for Melvin Smith who came from Auburn after their defensive changes at the end of the year. He is already listed as co-defensive coordinator, so maybe they did know something ahead of time. He's also still getting about $375K from Auburn this year so we may be getting him at bargain prices at least for this year.

Sucks. But much better when they are hired away than when they have to be fired.

The so called "crazy" one is our strength and conditioning coach. You should read his bio.
