Well played game by LU. Layer out coached Campbell. Congrats to him and the team. Hopefully this win will provide confidence Saturday against Coastal.

RE: Basketball vs the Camels tonight
Let's go win the conference tournament! I only half joke...

But in all seriousness, it's been a long time coming and I'm happy we finally got a win. What might have been had we cut down on the turnovers earlier in the year, or if the injuries to key players didn't happen.

I'm really happy we won but Layer still has to go. I refuse to see this as some new leaf being turned over.

Basketball vs the Camels tonight
Every dog has its day. In the end we're still a dog. I am very thankful for the win and hope we win every single game we play for the rest of the year.

RE: Basketball vs the Camels tonight
We have a talent issue. Think of this. What player from Liberty would start for Coastal, CSU, Radford and UNC-A? I can't think of one player that would start. Even with no injuries we may have won 1-3 more games. I don't think layer is a bad coach. I think he's a poor recruiter and hasn't been able to sell Liberty. I'm aware of the Bond kid, but one player shouldn't make it break a program. Liberty is a broken program right now.

Since a coaches job is to recruit and coach doesn't that make him a bad coach? It's not like recruiting is a extra duty specially assigned to him and no other D1 coach.

I don't think Layer can recruit either. He gets the JC players which gives the program a high turnover rate. He really hasn't developed much talent while he's been the coach. And the offensive philosophy doesn't work well with bad players. Or at least a good coach could overachieve with a different offense and the same bad players to hide the deficiencies. But not Layer.

I should have said I don't think he's a bad x's and o's coach. He just can't recruit well.

Gielo shut down for the season. Will seek medical redshirt.
At this late time it's best that he seek medical redshirt rather than make an attempted comeback. The best we can hope for this season is that the players play hard, that Dembly and others continue to develop with the extended playing time and we make the best of it.
