One problem I've seen for years is our habit of taking out our best players
when they are really playing well, and leaving them out too long. If a kid needs a break, take him out and let him rest for two minutes or so, and then get him back into the game. The longer he sits, the colder he gets, and it's more difficult to get back into a rhythm

Mariek was on a pretty good roll last night, and then he came out and sat what seemed like forever. That has been a pattern for years. I don't know who's in charge of keeping up with how long a player is out, but it seems that a kid comes out who's hot, and sits down, and they forget about him for awhile in the heat of the game.

And in thinking about Jerron Washington's playing time, I have seen that he has really good athletic ability. He hasn't shown any ability to score the ball yet, but if he can play defense, create steals, start fast breaks, then he doesn't need to score a lot if you have Josh, James R., Mariek and Roger in the lineup with him. That give you some speed and energy that can do things other than score that can help you win. Things might be turning around, although it might be a little late.

Let's hope for the program we get on a winning streak to finish the season. Whatever occurs, we're going to have a bad season, so for those who want a change, I wouldn't worry about it. Chances are pretty good that whatever happens a change will take place. It will be based on, I believe, seven straight losing seasons against D1 competition and a dwindling fan base, not what happens the rest of this season.04-cheers

I was impressed with the two Memphis jucos last night - up to a point. Like you said, they are not going to score many points, but they have some athletic ability and they played hard.

My assessment of last night's game from the cheap seats. You are always glad when the Trojans win but in team sports it's good to consider the level of competition. I thought it was a game of equal talent, and if they played 10 games Home & Home it might end up 5 and 5. Trojans definitely looked better than they have in past games. They shot better and won rebounds by 15. How often has that happened? Like the Trojans, TSU is not very strong inside. As for rest of season, seems to me they need to win at least 4 of the remaining 7 to make it to N.O.. And even that may not be enough. When you are at bottom of standings, not much room for error.
