Camellia Bowl has a huge economic impact on Montgomery
Montgomery officials are estimating that the Camellia Bowl brought in $10-15 million, much higher than they originally expected.

That's good to hear. Perhaps if Troy manages to make that bowl in the future, the financial impact can be even greater since it's Troy's back yard.

Say what you want about the Sunbelt, but when it gets down to the nut-cuttin', our conference teams and their fans have really supported the bowls we're fortunate enough to play in over the the last 4 or 5 years.

Would probably be less, stadium is too small. Closer is less hotels.

I was thinking the same. South Alabama made a fine showing this year and may find themselves in a position similar to what the Cajuns share with the New Orleans bowl........just get bowl-eligible and you've got a good shot at making that game.

Little Rock is too good for a bowl game that will only bring tens of millions of dollars to the local economy. Little Rock was also too good for a company called FedEx to put their headquarters there. Memphis needed it more I guess01-wingedeagle

We have explained this till I'm tired in the face...

Most Troy people don't live around Troy or Montgomery. We will at minimum sell the same amount of hotel rooms as usa. Most likely more.

Game day in Troy most the hotels are sold out anyway. Last year I tried booking a conference game 4months in advance at the Marriott and best western and both were already sold out.

I hope the SB gets some more bowls. I truly believe if SBC could get a second bowl in Atlanta at Turner Field, the could get the ACC to partner. ACC fans love Atlanta and really hated to lose the Peach Tie-In. I have been surprised the ACC has not tried this with Ga Tech stadium with the loss of the Peach Bowl.

Would a football field fit in the current configuration of the TED??? On a side note, I hate the bowl games that are being played in the baseball stadiums, they look horrible on TV and the view lines from the stadium look terrible. It's a interesting thought to play at Yankee stadium, but in reality looks like a horrible place to watch a football game.

Agreed about baseball stadiums but I believe the goal for Ga St is to turn it into a Football Field eventually. So even if it is a short term solution until the transformation is complete. Good news is that the SB got the Cure Bowl for next year.

Little Rock needs to get off their arse, they should contact the people that put in the st Pete bowl, that thing always has horrible attendance, and in a bad building for football and just move that game to war memorial.

Someone get ESPN on the phone!!!!

Won't happen, that is an AAC bowl and has an ACC semi-tie in.

You would also think that if the swine have taken their ball and gone to Fayetteville, this would another reason for Little Rock to be interested in a bowl. If they can't get UALR to start football, get a bowl. It at least replaces the one UA game they lost every year.
