DURHAM, N.C. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball junior shortstop Blake Trahan added to his preseason accolades as he was named to the Baseball America 2015 Preseason All-America Third Team, the publication announced on Monday.

Trahan was named the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year a week ago. The Kinder, La., native was also a preseason second team All-American selection by Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game.

Trahan is coming off of a season where he hit .355 with 12 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 49 RBI and scored 58 runs. An All-Sun Belt First Team selection in 2014, Trahan was the 2014 Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player and became the first Cajuns player to be named to the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

He received ABCA First Team All-American honors as well as being tabbed a second team All-American by Baseball America and Perfect Game a year ago.

Well, as much as I hate to . . . . Guess I'll have to pull for y'all in your Feb. 13-15 series. I routinely root for two teams: TX ST and ANYONE playin' NutsaCK. . . .

When the Cajuns need a timely hit at a pressure time in the game, you can usually count on Blake to come through.

He rarely makes an error at shortstop and is quick to knock down hard hit balls up the middle. He is an all around awesome player.

He definitely deserves all the Pre-Season attention he is getting this year. He will be a leader that will be needed this year after losing so many from last year.

Kid makes it look easy that's for sure, his range is sick, makes plays that would be base hite look like a routine out.

TXST lost in that dump last year. I am really looking forward to seeing UTSA play Louisiana. I have a lot of respect for that baseball program.
